Re: My Instruction was Defeated by Sight Picture

I have two XD9SC. One prefers the 6:00 hold while the other prefers the combat hold. I swap them out for carry. I figure at self-defense ranges it's not going to make a lot of difference.

Re: How to move Gun safe

:iagree:
I moved my 500#ish safe by myself. If you have hard floors 1 1/4 sch 40 pipe works well. The thicker the carpet the larger the pipe you’ll need for it to roll easier.

I was lucky that my front porch is tall enough to serve as a loading dock.

Re: Shotgun Advice

Jusme summed it up nicely.

Also look for a youth model. As a husband with a shorter wife the shorter stock of the youth model makes it easier for her to use. 20 ga with low recoil buckshot will fill your needs.

Re: ATF ruling AR and AK pistols are now AOW!

Not agreeing with the ATF on much of anything I propose the following: IF the ATF decides to regulate a previously unregulated item they should allow all said items to be grandfathered in and get the tax stamp for free. After all, if "they" want to allow individuals in the country illegally to becom...

Re: Am I being a cheapskate for B-27 targets?

I used to use LFTB but the shipping got me to. I went to Action Targets since I use their scenario targets in the School Safety class.

Re: AMMO. Buying, selling or nothing

I’ve added little here out there but early in this nonsense. I’ve shifted my focus to picking up reloading components when the opportunity arises. Just got a shipment of 55 gr bullets, 1000 once fired brass, and powder. Academy had SRPs and I added 2000 to my collection. I can’t say I’m set but I ca...

I have done the same with several of my beater guns. It turns out pretty good and with a little wear it just makes it better.

Re: My “truck” gun is...

I betcha one could argue that a sling carried over/around the shoulder could be considered a shoulder holster. One could make that argument, but I wouldn't want to bet my personal freedom on if being successful. That's the main reason I do not routinely carry an AR pistol in a vehicle. If, for some...

Re: Anybody bought body armor? Thinking about it....

I have the AR500 Testudo with 10"x12" level 3 with buildup. My wife has the Freeman with III plates. We don't plan on trekking across country or storming the Bastille with them. They are more a hunker down or limited movement. Certainly we aren't wearing them everyday. I am considering buying some I...

Re: Instructor email from RSD

It said that students are to upload their LTC-100 or LTC-101 themselves. It goes on to say if the instructor uploads them they are filed in the instructor's account. I assume this causes problems for the students getting their license since the 100/101 never shows up in their account.

Andy C and TAM - Update Please on Form 1 Suppressor Build

Gentlemen, It has been almost 5 years since you built your suppressor. Would you give us an update on how the suppressors you built are holding up? I'm getting back around to wanting to build my own. The price is a large contributing factor but I would like to know how they are holding up for you lo...

Re: Scenic West Texas Roads

If you skip down 54 to 82 you'll go through Cloudcroft, NM. A nice little mountain town. Once out of the mountains of NM you'll be in dry, flat open land. There is a certain beauty to it, but it wears off pretty quickly. You'll probably skip down to 62 at Lovington, NM unless you go south at Artesia...
