Re: Replacing Lost Certificates

I can count on one hand how many times I’ve had to replace lost certs.

:iagree:

I just send them a PDF with the reminder of a signature.

Re: Man with Gun at Lubbock Protest

The weird thing is everyone pretty much just standing there or even walking towards him. Some appear to be yelling or antagonizing him. Hard to watch on my phone. It just strikes me odd that you don’t see more people running.

Man with Gun at Lubbock Protest

Not much information at the moment. The gun toter and the man who tackled him both arrested. Looks like an idiot with a gun. The way he is holding it I’m not sure but I might reasonably think he was threatening. Not really enough info yet to tell for sure but it doesn’t look good at the moment. http...

Re: Is this legal open carry?

Personally, and IANAL, I think the intent of the law is that the weapon is securely attached to your body in a holster that safely retains it. No stuffing it in your waistband or hanging on a lanyard around your neck Tuco-style. I feel the law-makers didn't get anymore specific for a reason; not to ...

Re: Timing…a Missing Component in Training

I am mindful of Mr. Wallace at the West Freeway congregation. After the assailant pulled the shotgun he didn't appear to be pointing it at anyone (but it is hard to tell from the video) until Mr. Wallace drew attention to himself, told him to put the gun down, and ineffectively tried to draw his own...

Re: Santa Fe ISD Guardian Program Approved

The article states that over 300 Texas schools have implemented the Guardian program. I suspect that number may actually include both Guardian and School Marshal programs. In any case there are 1035 Texas school districts, as near as I can tell, and this number probably includes charter schools. Wi...

Re: Texas HHSC New Gun Sign Law Goes into Effect

Thought this might be of interest to some here, Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) posted this on the agency intranet. New Gun Sign Law Goes into Effect Effective Sept. 1, a new state law will prohibit the use of signs by state agencies that bar concealed handgun license holders from...

Re: RDS v. Iron Sights: Not just for old blind guys

So how many of you guys carry, or plan to carry with a RDS mounted on your carry-gun? The points made about putting the time in to get acclimated certainly seem valid, as far as range use. In a defensive shooting scenario, can you get a shot on target as quickly? ;-) You need to read the Sage Dynam...

Re: Found - Low profile Kydex pancake holster - Partial review

It holds the gun very securely so I'm pretty pumped.... until I try to get a grip. The space between the holster and the grip is too tight to get my middle finger into a proper position under the trigger guard to get my full grip. I don't have large fingers. That's irritating - but Kydex is easily-...

Re: Red Dot Sights Co-Witness

I don't have a red dot on a pistol but I do on a couple of ARs. On the ARs I have flip up sights that are absolute but I don't run them at the same time. If I loose the RD then the BUIS pop up in the middle of the tube and all looks fine. On a handgun I don't want the stationary iron sights to be in...

Re: RDS v. Iron Sights: Not just for old blind guys

The simultaneously most hurtful/true thing I’ve heard about shooting red dot equipped pistols is “There are no more hard shots, just bad trigger presses”. OUCH! I'm looking at getting a XD 9 Service Model soon. Upgrading to RDS is high on the want list. Xdm 4.5 osp will get you a slightly longer ba...

Re: Found - Low profile Kydex pancake holster - Partial review

I received my holster last Tuesday. That night I tried it on and liked the way it blended in with my belt and was low profile enough that I could still get into my jean pockets. I did have to wear it at about 3:30 because the Kydex doesn't bend well so the angle where the belt attachment and the Kyd...
