Re: Man trespassed for life from ALL Walmarts for OCing a holstered handgun

In the twitter link in the OP, his text is below the videos. About 7 lines from the top he writes that he "yelled"... "Customer assistance needed in sporting goods!"... after hearing that request being ignored 4 times over the intercom. I can vouch that Walmart has terrible customer service and res...

Re: Communications Failures?

When I was working with the guidance systems on John Deere tractors we had occasions where we lost RTK guidance. The tractors use 900 Mhz radios and, while we couldn't prove it, we lost signal sometimes when oil field trucks went by. I assumed they were running hot radios to make up for the remote a...

Re: Churches arm, train congregants in wake of mass shootings

I went to the website of the company mentioned in the article and looked at their gallery. There are a couple of photos that question at least one of the Safety Rules. They may be a great company but those photos cause me angst.

https://www.click2houston.com/news/national/el-paso-suspects-mother-called-police-concerned-about-gun Shooters mom called police worried about her son buying an AK47 considering his age and maturity level. Didn’t mention that pesky kill list he made in high school. Police apparently said it was all...

Re: El Paso Walmart Shooting

While we constitute a large number that support and commit to carrying, we are only a group of <4% of the population. So if there were 200 (arbitrary number) in Walmart at the time of shooting, there would have been approximately 8 with an LTC. Given, unfortunately, that all who have an LTC, carry ...

Re: Topographical maps

Maps? I don’t need no stinkin’ map. Shoot, out here I can stand on a can of tuna and see Amarillo. I do like Topos and have a few random ones around. +1 for the DeLorme atlas. Not quite as detailed as a dedicated topo but very useful. I used one extensively storm spotting before GPS and google maps.

Re: How to Carry Cell Phone

As my life evolves and what I have to do/carry I am finding it harder to find a good way to carry my cell phone. I have, for years, carried in my left front shirt pocket. Now, as my work has changed, I am in positions that allow my phone to fall out of my pocket and most pockets aren't deep enough ...

Re: How to Carry Cell Phone

I appreciate the replies. I think I may have to try a combination of ideas. For work I'll start buying the cargo pants. Duluth's prices scare me, as I am cheap and hard on pants, but I hear they are worth it. Secondly, I am needing a new case for my phone so I'll probably go back with an Otter Box o...

Re: NC:5 minutes passed before 911 dispached police in fatal break in.

I had an 911 dispatcher in my LTC class once. I asked her, best case scenario, how long it takes for the call to come in, get all the details, and send the first dispatch out. She responded, 2 minutes. After that it is driving time to the scene and getting to the victim. Assuming the officer is a mi...

Re: WTB Flash Can 5/8 x 24

I may have one from ordering the wrong threads. Let me see if I can locate it. Found it! It is the Micro but it's yours if you want it. PM me your address and I'll send it Monday. Had the same problem with Blundergat. Dug into their BBB and found they are stealing. Apparently the BBB went by the add...

Re: SBR or pistol

As far as SBR vs. Pistol, as others have said, six of one - half a dozen of another. There are pros and cons to both. I do not have an SBR but will likely pull the stamp for at least one of my pistols to be able to swap for reasons mentioned. Caliber is another topic. I do not own a 5.56 short barre...
