End of the caliber wars

I found this on a different website. Backs up what most of us really know. Shot placement and if you know you're going to get in a gunfight then bring a long gun.

Re: Part 1 - What Color?

In context of carrying a long gun "covertly," pick a handful of clothing covers (think ripstop wind breakers, or FrogTogs-type light rain gear), and a coloring on your long gun that fades nicely into those. The visual image then becomes more innocuous, what you're carrying blends with you, not nece...

Re: Part 1 - What Color?

Even though grey man does not mean you wear grey all the time, I didn't want to put any color out there to skew anyone's thinking thus I didn't want to refer to "grey". We've jumped pretty quickly to "camo" with splotches and patterns. Something was hoping to stay away from initially, thus the Part ...

Re: Part 1 - What Color?

Being familiar with and trying to practice the grey man theory I was holding off on it to try not to introduce a color bias. The grey man is what got me to thinking about weapon color. I agree, a black gun stands out and not any color will be best in all cases but is there a middle ground? I think t...

Part 1 - What Color?

I started pondering as sometimes I do and pondered this up, what color(s) is/are the most neutral, blends with all but extreme environments (i.e. totally white well-lit room), inside a building to out in the open, under bright light to inky darkness, no matter what color of clothes I wear? This has ...

Re: School Safety Certification Instructor Training Class

If you're looking for a place to stay you might look at the Best Western in Georgetown. I told them I was coming in for DPS Training and they gave me the DPS discount. A plus is there are usually plenty of DPS vehicles around and I would think that makes a great deterrent to any locals that may be u...

Re: Church and Hospital carry

If the church has a preschool, is that considered a school? It is generally thought that unless a "school" is accredited by the state of Texas then it is not recognized as a school in regards to carry. This leaves you with the traditional public schools Pre K -12 (including early childhood) and pri...

Re: Lockpick set

That's real nice. I just recently picked up a Sparrow Tuxedo kit. I haven't gotten to mess with it much but I have conquered the common Master locks.
Check out Bonsai Bill's LockLab on Youtube. He's a great instructor.

We need the church exception passed! As a Minister I follow the example of Z.N. Morrel . :tiphat: We did. Effective Sept. 1, 2017. Sec. 1702.333. PLACE OF RELIGIOUS WORSHIP; CERTAIN VOLUNTEERS. (a) In this section, "volunteer security services" means services or activities that are: (1) regulated u...

Re: Let's talk knives.

I don't have any expensive knives. I'm too hard on them and I tend to lose them. I found a Benchmade Osborne similar to the one in TAMs post. I carried it for years and loved it...then I lost it...and I can't bring myself to spend the money to replace it. I know the general area where it lays but it...

Re: sporting clay random number on the disc?

i guess they are not all created equal? im new to clays whast the better brands? The gold standard would be the White Flyer brand. Used by the major clay shooting associations. I saw White Flyer at our local Walmart in Levelland so I'll assume that most/all Walmart in the region will carry them. Di...

Re: How "Prepped" Are you?

The most essential thing I have for emergencies is my coffee kit. Mechanical handcrank coffee grinder .. Little sterno/candle stove. and a pour over coffee maker w filters. If I don't have my coffee there isn't much sense on continuing onward. OK. I just changed my mind. I will be hanging out with ...
