Re: Off The Beaten Path - Anderson,TX

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/League_(unit) The above link gives the various definitions for "league", which is generally a measure of "length = 3 miles." So if the gentleman got a league of land, the question arises: "3 miles long, but how wide?". **************************************************...

Re: 1st Saturday LTC breakfast: Terrell/Tyler/East Texas friends.

Lena and other East Texas LTC friends: At our Arlington breakfast yesterday, we discussed the new East Texas 1st Saturday breakfast, and there are multiple folks who said they would try to make the Terrell breakfast. Possible other attendees: flightmare, strogg, and C-dub, as well as myself. We look...

1st Saturday LTC breakfast: Terrell/Tyler/East Texas friends.

For a while now, North Texas LTC friends have been having breakfast together on selected Saturdays at 800 AM. We have great conversations and hear all kinds of stories from others' life experiences. It's enlightening to put a screen name with a face. 2nd Saturday = Dallas side of DFW, held at Rudy's...

Video: World's smallest pistol is a Kolibri in 2.7 MM.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THsDpGJcpk8

The above link is a 5 minute, 17 second video that details the world's smallest pistol, called a Kolibri.

It was designed by a watchmaker, only about 1,000 were produced, and fires super small 2.7 MM ammo.

Re: Nobody but Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

She makes $174,000 a year. Her payment was for only $1,237.16. I believe if most of us made 174K a year, that loan would have long ago been paid off. Just sayin'. $1,237.16 is .007% of her yearly salary. Even paying off the entire $20,000 remainder would only be 11.49% of her yearly salary. Since he...

Where did you pick up a 21" S & W? Bricks and mortar, or over the web?

Price, I'm guessing, was about $49.99?

Re: Collapsible Baton-Legal to Carry in Texas

Yeah, I picked up a monadnock used to try it out. Better than having nothing in certain scenarios. My only previous definition for "monadnock" was Mount Monadnock in southern New Hampshire. A monadnock is a prominent hill sitting above a plain, and its granite resisted it being ground down by glaci...

I will be there. I attended the NRA Self Defense event this past weekend at the Funkytown Fort Worth Civic Center. It was very informative, but my one complaint is that they keep that place like an icebox. I swear it was 60 or 65 degrees in there. I had goosebumps most of the time. September 1-2 was...

Comedian George Burns was on Johnny Carson one night. He stated that he drinks 5 martinis a day and smokes 10-15 cigars a day. Johnny: "What does your doctor say about that?" George: "My doctor is dead". RIP George Burns, American legend, 1896-1996. 100 years of doing what he wanted. Rock on. SIA

Yes, you can open carry your banjo in Walmart.

As long as it has a maximum of 4 strings, no more.

Re: Off The Beaten Path - Lampasas, TX

John Burleson, the county's first resident, was awarded 1,280 acres of land including the present Lampasas townsite on April 26, 1838, in return for his services during the Texas Revolution. A "quarter section" = 160 acres. A "section" = 640 acres. 640 acres = 1 square mile. So, when this gentleman...
