Re: ISIS murders two American bicycle tourists in Tajikistan

Speaking of danger on 2 wheels, recently about 12 American motorcyclists left Anchorage, Alaska to start a 24,000 mile trip to the southern tip of Argentina. Although I didn't check the maps of their route, wouldn't they have to traverse the violence-filled climes of El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras...

Re: DFW North/NorthEast Quadrant Breakfast

Lena: You mentioned your geography would make the round trip to Frisco about 3 hours. I just mapquested Cash, TX, as noted in your personal information. Cash, TX is 264 miles from Frisco, in a northeasterly direction, requiring over 4 hours each way. Cash appears to be up Wichita Falls/Amarillo way....

Re: Mexican Radio to Beam Chinese Propagand

On a tangentially related piece of radio history from south of the Texas border, does anyone remember the ZZ Top song "I heard it on the X"? What this song refers to is the Mexican radio stations (first prefix = X) in the 1950's which were unfettered by a Mexican FCC (Federal Communications Commissi...

I will see everyone on Saturday, 8.11.18. soldev: I'm not sure if any of us regular Frisco breakfast guys have met you. I know I haven't....so looking forward to you joining us. Re: UT: pawn shop clerk kills robber. Video

Correction to my post above: the defender had only 6 rounds of 9MM
in his Glock 43, since he had zero in the pipe. If he had to fire at BG2,
he would have only 2 rounds remaining, not 3.

Re: USAF pilots' ejection seats to have M4 variant & 120 rounds.

What I am wondering about, which I don't think has been discussed, is this: when the ejection happens, doesn't the pilot and his parachute detach from the seat at some point? If so, the ejection seat and the pilot could end up landing quite far from one another. If the rifle was still attached to th...

Re: UT: pawn shop clerk kills robber. Video

What I don't understand from John's interview with the defender is the defender stated that he didn't have a round chambered since he had just dropped his daughter off at school. What should that have to do with carrying with a loaded chamber? By the way, the defender's gun was a Glock 43, IIRC 9MM ...

Re: Work carry VS off work carry

Although my employer forbids the carrying of pepper spray, knives, and firearms at work, I have been carrying since January 23, 2009.....it so happens that was 3 days after Obama became President. Initially I just had my PT111, 9MM, 10 + 1 rounds. That was my first handgun and is now waiting to get ...

Mineral Wells' Precision Ammo deal goes bad.

Page 1 of the Dallas Morning Snooze, dated 7/22/18, contains a story about Precision Ammunition, and how the deal between a private entity and the company went bad. I didn't read the whole hardcopy story, and I could not find the link on dallasnews.com, but my entry here is meant to be a "heads up" ...

Re: So Japan still has the death penalty

It is interesting to me that one of the "carry" prohibitions in the Texas CHL law forbids carry with x thousands of feet from an execution site (Huntsville). Fun fact 1: For many years, Texas criminals sentenced to death had to be executed in the county in which they committed their murders. IIRC, s...
