Re: Shooter at the Earle Cabell Federal Building

Only two years in the Army? Discharged as a PFC? Sounds like the Army got rid of him for something OTHER than disciplinary reasons.....maybe psychiatric problems? Definitely believe he was doing a SBC.

Re: Gun Storage programs in Texas?

Thanks G.A. If all they are doing is an awareness campaign, think that $1 million over two years needs to go to NRA and TSRA educational initiatives. :biggrinjester:

Re: Gun Storage programs in Texas?

Read the Foxnews article and could not tell exactly WHAT this law says regarding storage. Does anyone know WHAT this says? We already have laws regarding making firearms available to a child with enhanced penalties if someone is injured or killed.

Re: Post Mortem

There are many Republicans (office holders and voters) out there that could really care less about firearms related issues either pro or con. My older sister for example has been a life-long Republican (she is now 75) and is, at best, ambivalent about guns and hunting. She once owned a gun for perso...

Re: Post Mortem

According to statistics in a new book published by Karl Rehn, owner of KR Training, and titled "Strategies and Standards for Defensive Handgun Training" he states that Texas has a population of approximately 29 million with approximately 3.25 million gun owners (~11% of the population). Approximatel...

Re: Nervous LTC test

12x18 is about the size of the 8 ring on the B-27 target which gets you 5 points per hole. Dry firing will help with the trigger press. RELAX. Use your time on each string of fire and don't RUSH! Just remember the basics for EACH round fired, Sight Picture, breath control, trigger squeeze. Remember,...

Re: Serving in the military in Texas

IIRC, Active military can get a LTC for free from the state, must still pay for fingerprints as well as LTC course. Where are you stationed. Active military also v]can get a Super Combo hunting and fishing license for free.

Great post. Very proud of one Great Grandfather who was a Lt in the 41st Mississippi Infantry at Chickamauga and was captured at Durham, NC, another Great Grandfather who was wounded at the Battle of Corinth in Jollicofer's Brigade, and a Great, Great Uncle who was in the 11th Mississippi Infantry a...

Re: Pennsylvania - Firearms Registration Act Introduced

Saw this one on Glock Talk yesterday. Responses were significantly less than complimentary regarding this bill. PA is usually a pretty gun friendly state, but like us, there is a significant anti group concentrated in their large cities. Agree that this should never make it out of committee, but doe...

Re: Gun control hearing in the Senate

I will withhold judgement at this time. Most of the Red Flag laws I have seen proposed do not. in my opinion. provide enough safeguards for the accused. too much area for vindictive ex-spouses, angry neighbors, or just plain old anti-gun folks to decide to go off on a gun owner who has done nothing ...
