Re: Lead time

Last student that gave me feedback did the course in early March with application, prints, all done before. He had plastic by the end of March. No feedback since.

Re: New shooter

Great job Andy. This is exactly (minus the suppressor) how I teach my "Intro to pistol Shooting" class. Usually one on one (never more than two on one) for about an hour on basics then off to shoot lots of .22 then working up through .380, .38 Spl and finally 9mm. Really wish some of my LTC students...

Very nice addition to the collection. Have you fired it yet? Have it checked out and use light to moderate loads. My vintage 1911 loves to be fired occasionally.

Re: Upcoming DFW protest events

So glad I lived in Dallas and Denton Counties when I did and not now. (Dallas County 1963-69 and Denton 1969-73). Biggest issue I had to worry about was the patchwork system of where they could or could not sell beer and where were the places that did not "card" you.

Re: CA: LA County Sheriff to increase carry permits by 400%.

Geez. In 1978 in Sacramento County, all it took was a military ID, military orders assigning you to a base in California, and anything that showed you were living in Sacramento County (lease, utility bill with your name, etc). Then pay your fee, get fingerprinted, photographed and walk out the door ...

Re: AG’s in 16 States Embrace Background Checks On Ammo Purchases

Too many government functionaries for DC invaded Northern VA and too many Californians went to NM. We are seeing that here in Texas now with the invasions of northeastern liberals and California escapees all of whom want the great job market in Texas our lower cost of living and lower taxes, but do ...

Re: Interested in an AR-10 style rifle in .308. Help me decide?

I had a DPMS Oracle in .308/7.62x51. Rifle worked flawlessly for me and ate every ammo I fed it from commercial, GI Lake City, various milsurp Brit and German rounds nd even steel cased Russian stuff. Only reason I sold it was that I was downsizing the collection and compared to my 5.56 ARs was VERR...

Re: Instructor range fee for Online students

Range where I work Part time charges $35 for the hour of instruction and shooting. Full class is $85. Too many of these on-line folks seem to think all they have to do is shoot with no instruction yet the form requires that I certify I have provided 1-2 hours of "Range Instruction" in addition to th...

Amen. What she said! We can disagree, but we do not have to demonize and attack those with whom we disagree. I am a male, Christian, straight, of British and northern European ancestry, with conservative political and social views. Do not attack me for that and I will not attack you for your beliefs...

:iagree: Started 3 of my Grandkids with the Crickett. Nice little rifle. I believe in learning iron sights before optics. Start with the basics and then build up from there.

Have you checked directly with Mossberg? Been well over 30 years, but I bought one for my 20 Ga. %00 from them. Still have it as a house gun.

Re: If you could only carry a revolver

I side with the OP, my S&W Model 19. Current one I have had for more than 35 years and it has always worked flawlessly. Used it to take the DPS LTC Instructor course and shot an easy 250. Original Model 19 I bought in 1974 and was stolen in a home robbery in 1985. My back-up would be my S&W Model 36...
