Re: TX: Houston 3 yo dies at birthday party after shooting himself

Hmmm, sounds like making a readily dischargeable firearm accessible to a child with resulting injury or death. Hope charges are filed and punishment will not be nearly enough. That said, the story is a bit fishy. What were the OTHER circumstances in this incident?

Re: Why is the Texas Republican Party trying to stop drive-thru voting?

Flecero, next door to Bell in Coryell it is quite different story. Wife and I drove by the early voting site at the Copperas Cove Civic Center just to see how bad it was. At 1:30 in the afternoon, there was NO line out the door, and a fair number of cars in the parking lot, but not crowded. We said ...

Re: PAR (Private Pilot Written) Exam Scheduled

Good luck and don't over think. My own PP written was almost 50 years ago, but since then I have instructed several students prior (and after) taking it. The Designated Examiner will probably ask about areas you missed, but will also ask quite a few other questions. FAA has specific emphasis areas t...

Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNITED STATES AIR FORCE!

Thanks Oljames, but think we will pass on the offer. However, spent a good bit of time with you Redlegs, some of it teaching emergency CAS to OBC students. You want high adventure, this was our normal training exercise. Six gun 155 battery firing on target with 2LT students manning every position on...

There seems to be more and more evil coming at us. Always carry, pay attention to your surroundings and be prepared to act if necessary. I know it sounds trite and shallow, but thoughts and prayers to all the deceased and prayers for the LE who searched for this animal.

Re: Duty to Provide LTC on Voluntary Identification to LEO?

Whereas I explain to my students the exact points of the law regarding when they are REQUIRED to display, I advise them that it a good idea anytime they have interaction with a law enforcement officer and are asked for identification to display BOTH their DL and LTC and state that they are or are no...

:iagree: That is what I recommend to a lot of my "older" female students. Either that or the .380 EZ.

My wife carries the .380EZ.

Re: US didn't need to drop the atomic bomb on Japan

[ We must judge historical acts from the historical context. Unfortunately, in today's Cancel Culture climate no one wants to understand the historical context of anything or the historical significance of anything. If certain segments are allowed to take power in the US, Philip964 may be correct in...

Like many others here, my Dad was in a P-38 Fighter Group that had gone through the fighting in New Guinea, invasion of Moratai, attacks on Borneo and the invasion of the Philippines. In late July 1945 they went from Luzon south to Mindanao to re-equip with the latest model P-38 in preparation for p...

Re: TX: one dead at shooting during police protest in downtown Austin tonight

The order was due to high Covid cases and included Travis, Harris, Dallas, Bexar, and I believe Tarrant counties. There are exceptions for personnel who actually live and commute from Travis County as well as official business.
