Re: Denied CHL

I went through the Federal Flight Deck Officer Program back in 2003. (This is the Airline pilots who carry handguns) We had to jump through many hoops and satisfy many politicians. I think at that time (the program was just starting) the state of Texas had 2 Psychiatrists that were certified by the ...

Re: Ban carry at a parade or street festival on public streets

I am confused. Will there be a defined area where they are having the parade and is that defined area blocked off some way. Will you have to go through gates to get to an area to observe the parade? What if you own a business on one of those streets....can they not allow the business owner to carry ...

Lowes and Veteran Discounts

I have read many different versions of the Veteran discount at Loews. I bought a new washing machine yesterday and mentioned that I was a Veteran and the guy took 10% off the already sale price. Very simple and done at the register.

Re: New Jersey governor wants to increase gun-related fees

Hey, I have a thought. Maybe when the fees get so high it will be advantageous for New Jersey to ease up on getting a permit/Concealed License. They would take in lots of new revenue and everyone would be happy. They could balance their budget, give big raises to all state employees, clean up their ...

Re: Kamala Harris would proclaim new gun-control measures through executive orders (presidential decrees?)

This is why I’ve been so frustrated with Trump’s use of executive power. I know that he hasn’t used it as much as other presidents, but he has used them in more controversial decisions. Thus setting precedent for the next liberal president to order away the 2nd amendment. In the end it doesn’t matt...

Re: Will Obama be arrested for illegal spying on Trump campaign?

Look what happened in the 2018 election. The Dems took the House and ALL investigations there came to a screeching halt. If they take the White House in 2020, this investigation will cease too.

I also grew up in Baytown, arriving in 1962 and leaving after high school graduation at Robert E Lee in 1968. I remember some Keene's but never heard this story.

Re: Property taxes

One of the "good" reasons to turn 65. The only property tax I pay is a MUD tax,and school tax with a much higher exemption percentage. I no longer pay hospital district, port of Houston, county taxes, etc. My tax bill was cut more than 50%. We have a farm in Burleson County with an Ag exemption. The...

Re: TX: How to dispose of your bump stops in Houston

The things are useless now unless the ruling is overturned. You can't take it to the range, farm, gun range. If you have it outside, there is always the weird chance that it may be seen and you be the test case. It will be pretty obvious to a nearby game warden that you are shooting "fully automatic...

Re: Should we abolish the Electoral College?

This seems to be a hot button of the Progressives. The underlying premise here is that the Great Compromise was a mistake, and that it is unfair to give less weight to the votes of Citizens in more populous states, which the current system does. But I hardly ever hear talk about the other part of t...

Re: Need a car? (Houston)

One option is Texas Direct Auto. They buy EVERYTHING. You might not get much but there are no future hassles. I gave a truck away to the church only to have multiple calls from the new OWNER. I wish I had sold it to one of these wholesale companies.
