Re: Gun Range Wouldn't Rent to Me

Their gun, their rules. As dub as they may be for business. I would agree, but the rule was forced on them. The guy I was talking to said it was a stupid rule. I had never heard such a thing so I thought it was kind of funny. It's not a huge deal for me. It's just really inconvenient today. My wife...

Re: TX: 70 yr old Plano vet sentenced to 87 months

That is a real travesty of justice. Confiscate the weapon or make it so that it is only semi-auto and let the guy have probation. BTW, I'm sure there are many of us that have some OLD firearms with serial numbers. I have one rifle that is over 100 years old and it has a serial number that was put on...

Re: AR - Constitutional Carry

Good to know. Mrs. Dub and I will be heading back to AR on another bike ride in the Spring. She's really taken to the mantra of not going anywhere I can't carry. She's even seen me OC a little on our last trip to San Antonio a couple weeks ago. Not down in SA, but rather when stopping for various re...

Re: The Mother of All Negligent Discharges

I also thought on my Tomcats there was some type of lockout switch if the landing gear was down and there was enough pressure on them.

And a safety pin or two on one of the gun mechanisms that was in place while on deck.

Re: 30.05 Law and No Sign

Texas3006 app shows no .06 or .07 signs at the location. Neither the general nor the wedding FAQ's say firearms are not permitted. Perhaps they wrongly believe they are an educational organization like the zoo does. The Dallas zoo no longer believes they are an educational facility. They currently ...

Re: OWB Paddle Holster That’s Concealable

My advice when looking for and deciding on an OWB paddle holster is to not be too worried or critical of that slight outward tilt. If the convenience of the easy on/off is what you’re looking for then there will be a little give and take. Remember, most people don’t pay enough attention to notice a ...

Re: Stand Alone ER's / Rip Offs or ...?

In Texas all private ER's are required to post a "menu" of their procedures, and their costs, up front in the lobby... I'm lucky that I live near Collage Station and the Hospital ER's are great so I have never been inside a stand alone. I do know a Doctor that owns one... What is the definition of ...

Yes, the guy committed some egregious errors. And quick action by the RSO most likely prevented a tragedy. But I'm a bit confused by all of the 'ban that guy' talk.
Because you can’t fix stupid. Ignorance, maybe, but not stupidity.

Re: Waco PD K9 attacks handler, was killed to save human LEO.

That article says the dog, Kastor, was only two years old. The officer could not have had him for a couple years. My guess would be that he only had the dog for 2-4 months at the most. This would support my initial assessment. However, maybe the dog was at least 2.5 years old and had been with his h...

Re: 30.06 Ruling Letters

If only the city kept accumulating a fine for each day they were in violation while this process continued. If that were the case and the fine was due when the decision made and they lost they wouldn’t want to wait so long I bet. IIRC the fine starts accumulating 15 days after the OAG issues (or th...
