My apologies, my friend. I realized that after I went on my tiraid. I have the utmost respect for you and your brothers in law enforcement. Thank you for doing what you do.

I am thrilled beyond words that those amendments were stripped from the bill.....not needed as laws currently in place to enforce what the amendments tried to reinforce. Not needed, IMO.

Haven't we(the entire forum) had this debate about a bazaillion times in the past 2 weeks. Or 6 months for that matter?

Simple answer? Yes. ONLY if the officer has reason to.
I'm not on this forum all the time and wanted a strait answer. Your answer contradicts itself. My question is, can a LEO stop a person open carrying without probable cause and demand to see their CHL just because they are open carrying?

I knew there was a amendment preventing LEOs from doing that and I didn't know if it passed with the bill.
I gave you the straight answer you requested. The amendment was stripped from the bill. And the resultant was accepted, voted on and passed. Do you need further clarification?

The amendment was useless. Do you think someone who doesn't respect the constitution would respect the wording of the amendment?

Since I don't know how Twitter works, I can't say if all tweets under a hashtag show up in two places or only one. Remember Sen. Ellis' and West's support of the Huffines Amendment? Chas.
Well, I signed up for a Twitter account, clicked on the link Charles posted, and I didn't see ANYTHING that remotely resembled a tweet from Abbott mentioning HB910. The first image I see is a plaque with a LEO badge saying "EVERY COP WHO PUTS ON THIS BADGE knows there's a chance they might not come back at night. LET'S APPRECIATE OUR COPS." I say Amen to that!

But nothing on the reference in question. Oh well, I'll just wait and let other make the comments from Twitter.

Great ! More drama !
I don't tweet, but I'd sure like to see what he said & not just a reference to it by a 3rd party. :???:

Don't see anything from the Gov last night saying that.
Many thanks R.A.! So for right now, we cannot verify if Abbott actually made that reference.....making it a rumor, and rumor only unless someone else can substantiate what the Governor allegedly said. So I'm discounting it. :tiphat:

As I understand it, CHL holders don't go through the metal detector lines. There's another line staffed by DPS they go through, and bypassess the metal detectors. DPS officer checks your CHL and passes you through.

Opposition is merely offering he EXACT SAME AMENDMENTS when SB17 was floor debated. There were 22 amendments introduced back on 03/16/2015.

IMO, the opposition is raising these amendments AGAIN(knowing that every amendment will be tabled), just to save face & say " well, we tried "
