I bought one of the DCM'S M1 Carbine back in 1962. Through the NRA. Maybe an ad. It cost me $16.50 plus shipping. About $2.50 back then. I shot it a whole lot especially noting that a bandoleer of 120 rounds cost $5.00 as far as I remember.WildBill wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 11:39 amDuring the 60s the DCM sold some surplus M1 Carbines. My mom bought one for around $15. It's previous [GI} owner carved up the stock a little, but my mom spent many hours sanding it down and refinishing the entire stock. Later on she gave it to me. I enjoyed shooting it. I didn't shoot it very often and I ended it up gifting it to a friend who helped me move from California to Texas. Sometimes I regretted giving it away, but he was a good friend who helped me outwhen I really needed it.
