Re: US Senate Parliamentarian

Silly question:

Is this only going to remove the $200 tax?

Or, Will this remove suppressors & SBRs from the NFA?

If the House keeps the changes the Senate passed, only the $200 tax is removed and would be $0.00. But there is an effort in the House to add back their language to remove ...

Re: Federal Judge Grants Preliminary Injunction In Challenge To California’s Non-Resident Concealed Carry Ban

I'm not tired of winning. Obama appointed judge wrote this. Shocked but pleasantly surprised!

In our Hoffman v. Bonta Lawsuit challenging California’s non-resident carry ban, the court has declared the State’s ban unconstitutional!

Re: Fed Court Ruling: Texas law prohibiting 18-20 LTC violoates 2A

From Mark Smith on X:

Major Breaking 2A: WOW! Trump DOJ has (rightly) decided not to seek cert from the Fifth Circuit’s pro-2A Reese v. ATF opinion, which found that young adults have full 2A rights and that the federal gun law banning FFLs from selling handguns to young adults is unconstitutional ...

Re: Today in Trump's 2nd term as President - somethings up

House Representative Andrew Clyde (Georgia) filed amendment to the BBB that passed the Senate. This would be the last hope this session since the Senate failed to overrule or fire the Harry Reid Democratic Parliamentarian. NOTE: The tax in the Senate version was reduced to zero, which is a victory ...

“NRA commends the senators who voted to eliminate the burdensome NFA tax on constitutionally protected suppressors and short-barreled firearms. We urge the House to concur with the Senate’s language, pass the One, Big ...

Re: US Senate Parliamentarian

So the NFA has been found Constitutional only because it is a tax. If Congress cuts the tax to zero, doesn't that imply Congress is no longer exercising it taxing authority on those items they quit taxing?

Re: US Senate Parliamentarian

According to Stephen Gutowski on X (Twitter) as of late Friday night:

It appears the provision eliminating the $200 National Firearms Act tax on silencers, short-barrel rifles and shotguns, and the "any other weapon" category has made it into the final text of the budget bill.
