Re: Smith&Wesson M&P 2.0 3.6 Compact

I keep hearing all these great things about the triggers on the 2.0, etc. Maybe my mistake is I bought mine too soon after they came out (and paid way more than they are going for now). 6 3/4 to 7 pound trigger pulls on them. Magazines would not drop free when empty. Sights are way off on both pisto...

Re: Shotgun Smith Recommendations

Ed Vanden Burg (south side of Houston) put screw in choke tubes on two 870 18 inch barrels for me and did a perfect job. He has also done trigger work on my 1911s and it was superb. Might want to talk to him as well. He has a web site.

Re: Reloading Brass Substitute Safe?

For pistol (straight wall) brass, you will see most IDPA and USPSA shooters using mixed brass (other than maybe a handful that are trying make major power factor in a caliber that was not intended for that in USPSA). Like others said, if you are going to load hot, you should stick with the same bran...

Re: Be careful with your .357 ammo choices....

TAM, You might want to contact Remington about this to see what they have to say. Not to long after the 6.5 Creedmoor came, I bought a rifle and a bunch of Hornady factory ammo to shoot and to get brass for future reloading. Upon examination of the ammo, I found one round with the primer in backward...

TAM,

I have the R8 cousin of the TRR8 that you have (virtually identical). They are very pleasant to shoot. You will enjoy it.

Re: Should we abolish the Electoral College?

TAM, My knowledge of CA is limited but my experiences in traveling to the small towns and rural areas of Upstate NY tell me that the Upstate part of NY is much like the conservative side of Texas. They would very much like to see New York City float off into the Atlantic Ocean and disappear forever....

Re: No place but Venezuela

Russia wants to prop up the existing government as it keeps oil production in Venezuela extremely low. If Venezuela was producing at full capacity, the world would be flooded in oil and oil prices would drop to $30/barrel or less. There are a lot of refineries on the Gulf Coast that are set up to ru...

Flechero,

Thank you for the reply but I tried that and it did not work. Not sure why, maybe the hard water that we have here?

Re: Changing to Revolver for IDPA & Insteresting Ammo Info

I don't have any experience with 38 special ammo but I did shoot rimfire metallic silhouette years ago. On cold days, we would put our ammo out in the sun on in a pocket that held it close to the body to warm the ammo. It seemed to increase the velocity and help with drop. When shooting a 22 standar...

Re: Need to clean really tarnished brass?

I deprime then wet tumble with SS pins, Dawn dishwashing liquid and a little Lemishine. The come out clean as a whistle and shiny but tarnish quickly after hitting the air. I then shine them up (so that I can find them after they have been shot) with corn cob (works better than walnut) and polish. F...

Re: Jack Hinson's One Man War

Finally got a chance to read this book. It is an excellent read and, like others here, I highly recommend it. The public library system has it available. Brazoria County did not have it in their system but they were able to borrow it from another county in the state.

Re: Reloading class

Who did you talk to at Hodgdon about putting on the class? How advanced was it? It might be nice to have them do a class at PSC. We have about 4000 members so we probably would have a big crowd.

Beto is no Kennedy. Read a biography on Kennedy. He was a womanizer (probably much more so than Clinton) but was much more conservative that Beto.

Re: Don't Trust Your Life on Magpull Glock Mags

I don't have a Glock so no comments there. The AR magazines have been flawless in my ARs. I used to shoot 3 gun and now shoot carbine matches every month (when the match is not rained out). I have 6 of AR magazines that I have used for these matches, practice and training classes and have had not ha...

Re: No place but Venezuela

Desperate Venezuelans swarm sewage drains in search of water: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-venezuela-politics-water-idUSKBN1QS2SN This is the sort of thing that happens when citizens give up their guns. We must never let the corrupt tyrants and weak minded people in this country disarm us. Th...
