Iran’s supreme leader wishes death to Trump, Bolton and Pompeo on Twitter.

I guess Twitter won’t take that down as it doesn’t violate their standards.

It was suggested it be take seriously as Iran has carried out successful assassinations in Europe and has secret sleeper cells here in the US.
Hmm, hasn't the American Left being saying that for years now on Twitter? Have we forgotten the severed heads, the hanging effigies?

Apparently Mueller is looking into the NRA influence on the election.
Not suprising. Got nothing on Trump, might as well try to take down the dems next most hated group of people.
Mueller, Republican, is now doing a favor for the dems? :confused5
Plenty of Republicans despise Donald Trump. Hence the phrase "Never Trumpers." The list is quite long. No confusion.

One of my 'practices' is to 'not read' all the quotes.

Skip right past em I do.

Saves time.

I don't read them, I'm just wearing out my finger and my patience scrolling past them.

Yes, it's a bizarre practice.

Many seem to find it necessary to copy so many different previous posts before they post their own, the point they're trying to make becomes a confused mess.
I don't think they find it "necessary," but rather too inconvenient to strip out the previous non related posts they are replying to. When you hit the Quote button, all posts related to original post are shown in the "Post a Reply" block, and they just type in their brief comment below all the non germane posts. Hence we have to scroll endlessly through all the previous posts just to read their brief comment on one segment of all we scrolled through. I find it frustrating, but of course other's MMV.

Stephen Schulhofer, a law professor at New York University, said the act of collusion can be either benign or criminal, depending on the circumstance.

“One of the most commonly used provisions of the U.S. Code, 18 USC §371, makes it a federal crime for two or more people to conspire ‘to commit any offense against the United States, or to defraud the United States, or any agency thereof in any manner or for any purpose,'” Schulhofer told us via email. “Agreeing (colluding) with someone for a perfectly lawful purpose, like arranging a game of golf or tennis, is not a crime. But colluding with the Russians, i.e. agreeing to cooperate, encourage or assist them in any way in pursuing anything they were doing that was illegal, is most certainly a crime.”
Here's some quotes on your NY law professor's "collusion" conclusion from a far more respected liberal legal mind.

"Alan Dershowitz said if the allegation is true, it is a "political problem" and not a "legal problem" because so-called "collusion" to get dirt on a political opponent is not a "federal crime." "Even if the president actively sought material dirt on Hillary Clinton, terrible thing, but even if he sought it, but the dirt had already been gathered, and he wasn't asking them to hack the DNC or do anything criminal, that would not be a crime," said Dershowitz, a professor emeritus at Harvard Law School.
"It would show, perhaps, 'collusion," he said. "But there's nothing in the federal code that makes collusion itself a crime."

Right on Abraham! Also, for the life of me I don't know why folks insist on quoting multiples of previous posts for a one line comment. If you want to reply to a particular statement, for heaven's sake, how hard is it to strip out the portions of the multiple posts that have little or nothing to do with your comment. :confused5

Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't the Coast Guard routinely seize drugs from smugglers? The Coast Guard is a military force isn't it?
Although it is an armed service, the U.S. Coast Guard, which operates under the Department of Homeland Security during peacetime, is not restricted by the Posse Comitatus Act but has explicit authority to enforce federal law. This is true even when the Coast Guard is operating as a service within the U.S. Navy during wartime.

Re: Today in Trump's new term as President

With respect to the Posse Comitatus Act, I believe the president can take the troops out of a support role into an enforcement roles based upon the following exception in the act:

Exclusions and limitations

Enforcement of federal law at the discretion of the President of the United States, such as with the 101st Airborne Division by President Dwight D. Eisenhower to integrate Little Rock Central High School in 1957.

Breaking into the country illegally is a violation of federal law. Those that seek asylum will have to await an individual/family decision. Those breaking or sneaking in are federal law breakers.

Ah yes, but nothing else matters if we get our tax cut and our anti-abortion SCOTUS. I recall Dan Quayle being widely ridiculed in the media and by many in the general public, both in the U.S. and overseas, as an intellectual lightweight and generally incompetent. He may be best know for his misspelling of the word "potato". Now the president can say any old thing and it's all ok. It used to be that there was the 10% of people that were ill-informed or easily fooled but now the number is much higher. So much for science, morality, ethics, intellect, civility, truthfulness, even ideology (conservatives are leaving the GOP!) and our country.

Late night variety shows, especially Colbert and Meyers, go overboard in their humor about the president but they do help end one's day to not take our decline too seriously: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xEz1uSedEM
Ha! You and your ilk are fine ones to lecture on civility! :thumbs2:
Ok, but not science, morality, ethics, intellect, truthfulness, or ideology? Oh well, 7 out of 8 is good. Thanks :tiphat:
So let's take that one at a time:

1. Science - Science has been wrong countless time over the ages. Science is ever changing. The universe is expanding. No its contracting, etc, etc.

2. Morality - Killing babies in the womb, even when they can feel pain, is very moral, right?

3. Ethics - Bribes and kickbacks abound on both sides of the aisle, so that includes Democrats.

4.Intellect - Yeah, Maxine Waters, and Rep. Hank Johnson who said Guam would "tip over" are Intellectual giants.

5.Truthfulness - No liberal pols lie - Yeah right. "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky"

6. Ideology - OK, you win, only liberal ideology is allowed. Conservative, libertarian, etc. thought is not allowed. Otherwise we will shout you down, prevent you from speaking on campus, assault your rallies with black clad masked, armed goons, and destroy all property we can.

Yes, you liberals have it all. :tiphat:

Canada has agreed to sign on to a trade deal between the United States and Mexico, preserving the three-country North American Free Trade Agreement after more than a year of tortuous negotiations.
The US and Canadian governments agreed to a deal that would allow US farmers greater access to Canada's dairy market and address concerns about potential auto tariffs just hours before a self-imposed midnight deadline, a US official and a Canadian official told CNN late Sunday.
More winning!
In another report it said the administration anticipates a fierce political battle, especially if the dems take control of the house. You can bet they will do everything possible to stop this to prevent the Trump administration from "winning."

Re: Today in Trump's new term as President

A candidate's associates have a meeting to get dirt on their opponent, and one person at the meeting is Russian - CRIME!

The opposition candidate and her party pay a firm who contracts with a foreign national, with Russian contacts, to get a dossier of dirt on their opponent, who also coordinates with the DOJ, so they and the FBI know what they have, who in turn leak it to the press, so they can get surveillance warrants, and go after their opponent. - NOTHING TO SEE HERE, MOVE ALONG!

Some folks just need a reality check.
