Renewal at the last minute

Okay, so I procrastinated and it's all on me. But I have a question and wondering if anyone has an answer. My CHL expired last year April 1. So my one year grace period is up this Friday. If I go online and renew it today will that count for something or would I also need the CHL 100 form submitted ...

I'll believe that Gun Zone opinion when it's backed up by case law. Until then I think it's generally not a good idea to carry in there.

FWIW I did receive a response from the ATF eventually and even though they are not allowed to give legal rulings or advice, they expressed their opinion that it was illegal because of the Code of Federal Regulations, USC notwithstanding. They could be right or they could be wrong, a judge would need...

Not only is it good advice, it is exactly what you need to do to protect yourself. § 46.03(a)(1) on the physical premises of a school or educational institution, any grounds or building on which an activity sponsored by a school or educational institution is being conducted, or a passenger transpor...

Parking lots and walkways don't count as 'premises' for that purpose. You just can't take it inside a school building/event.

Now if you do not have a CHL and, therefore, do not have to inform you have a concealed handgun, how would you handle the situation that the officer asks if you have anything in the vehicle he should be aware of, like a weapon or handgun. Would you say nothing, say no, say yes, or what to accomplis...

I'm pretty sure it mentions it somewhere deep in the app. If you didn't sign it you will almost certainly get it back. Seems to happen pretty frequently.

Well I agree that the DPS should follow the law. However, there is some responsibility on the part of the license-holder to be sure that they have a valid license whenever they carry. I don't think the DPS it totally to blame for that situation.

This is a private party sale? All happening within Texas? Then the law doesn't require that you go through an FFL, but you won't be able to ship a gun without sending it to an FFL (USPS / UPS / FedEX restriction, not law restriction). So that means an FFL transfer on the back end but not on the fro...

Well it's a nice response but you can never really judge a politician until they start voting on bills. We know Perry supports us thus far.
