Re: Experience dealing with LEOs during events etc?

Why would you voluntarily show your CCW / LTC to a volunteer gate security person when it is not required to do so. Might as well open carry at that point. You are not required to disclose unless at a traffic stop with at Texas peace officer or upon direct request by a Texas peace officer. Otherwis...

This would be an extremely dangerous precedent since by extension you could be held liable for any crimes committed by people that you associate with.

Re: UT: Starbucks clerk relives attack after customer shoots assailant

Starbucks "We are grateful local authorities were there to help and would direct any further questions their way." Local authorities were not there when needed, only after the fact. I think they need to be grateful to the LTC holder. The battered employee sure is. Just waiting for SB CEO to double ...

Re: LTC and "criminal street gang"

True and there's the rub. Simply by associating as a member everyone is a participant but it must first be proven in court that they have actually done something that is illegal. I think (barely but I try)aiding and abetting a criminal is a crime in TX? https://statutes.capitol.texas.gov/Docs/PE/ht...

Re: 364 guns stolen in Memphis intercepted on way to Chicago

I assume a stolen .380 could fetch $500 (That's retail for an LCP, I think) from a gangbanger who has no other option. If the .22s fetch half of that and the guns were half of each type, then you're looking at $135k minus expenses. Not a life changing score, but enough to make an idiot take foolish...

Would Antifa qualify as a criminal street gang?
If you go by what they SAY in public, then no.
If you go by what they DO, then yes.

Re: Good Officer encounter

In Austin of all places, very surprised. I know several APD officers that are very pro citizens carrying. Im not surprised at all that an APD officer would say something like that. The political appointee of Police chief, not so much, but the street officer.....I doubt many of them took / or stayed...

Re: 19th Bexar Sheriff Deputy Arrest for 2018

I only looked up and read #16-19, all of them were detention officers.....Seems to be the trend, not Deputies on the street but those working the Jails.
From those I know personally that work for TDCJ, and from the stories they tell.....lets just say I'm not surprised.

Used to be that plates had to be replaced every 8 years. That law changed a few years ago As of November 1, 2016, the State of Texas no longer automatically requires you replace your plates after 7 years. You can still request (and pay for) at your county tax office for replacement plates if the li...

Re: Family pets?, Micorchip please

E.Marquez, I never thought about the stolen dog scenario. All good, thanks I had never considered it either until I got involved with Central Texas Lost and Found Pets. Before that, when I saw a dog on the road, I assumed dumped, or escaped/lost. But like anything else, the more you deal with somet...
