Re: Parkland Rep Predicts Gun-Safety Majority will get Gun Control Through Congress

I love this guy claiming that they won the house because they are for gun control. They won the house because it was the off year election and the party outside the white-house always picks up seats. If he's smart, he won't read anything more into it. On second thought, go ahead and show the countr...

Chicago Wants Social Media History

For those who don't follow the antics over guns in Chicago, they require a Firearm Owner Identification or FOID in order to purchase a gun. This new law would require that a person turn over their access to their social media history in order to have it checked for disqualifying behavior for the FOI...

Re: National Conceal-Carry. No Hope

Well, now that the democrats control the House and given the 60-vote cloture rule in the Senate it appears, sadly, that national conceal carry legislation has about a zero chance of becoming law. :( I am disappointed in President Trump. He did not have the votes to repeal Obama-Care nor does he hav...

Re: AZ: Lyft/Uber drivers carry despite company policy

If I was a rideshare or taxi driver, I'd be carrying as well. You never know what kind of crazies would end up in your vehicle. I'd rather be alive and get fired than be dead and still have a job. I have a neighbor who drives for both Uber and Lyft. He has stories to tell. The worst are about drunks.

Re: How to Visit the Legislature this session?

Now that I'm retired, I have the free time and I thought I would try and visit the legislature while it was in session this spring. Since I've never done this before, I was looking for some help on planning my visit: 1. Are there better times to go than others? I presume there is a calendar posted ...

How the poll tax is illegal and this bill isn't is beyond comprehension.

Good job FBI.
:iagree: They certainly are on a roll after their lack of success in preventing the FL school shooting. Of course, they had lots of company on that one.

Re: CNN at it again - Handguns are more popular in US homes, with deadly consequences for children, study says

What I love is that author of the article completely dismisses the record firearm sales under President Obama. People like the members of this forum know from personal experience how hard it was to buy guns during those periods. The counter argument was that the same people were buying more and more...

Re: Making a provoctive clothing choice

But consider this: all that a bully needs to affirm his bullying and be encouraged in more bullying behavior, is for decent peace-loving people to submit to his bullying. If you want to wear a MAGA hat but refuse to do so because you’re afraid that you’ll be hassled for it, then you’re submitting t...

Making a provoctive clothing choice

I don't want to cause thread drift in the D.C. incident about the Catholic boys so I'm opening a new discussion. But that on-going discussions seems to be turning the MAGA hat more toxic to some in the media than it already was. I would have thought that the exact opposite would be the case after th...

Re: 58,000 Non-U.S. Citizens Voted in Texas State Elections

They aren't going to tell of course, but I'd love to know the process they followed by which they were able to determine who on the voter list is native born, naturalized, or non-citizen and ineligible. There had to be some serious computer time here. A few years ago, the Federal government told th...

Re: Gillette: The Best an Incel Can Get

I won't post the link here for fear of flirting with the forum rules. But Gillette had an advertising campaign in the Netherlands in 2011 that featured women wearing tight blue pants with their backs to the camera and a Gillette logo on the small of their backs. Some of the shots had 20+ women in th...

Re: Situation: 2am "visitor"

I would report it to the cops. They are unlikely to do, or be able to do, much just on your report, but there may be other reports in the neighborhood that indicate a pattern. Overall I think you did well. ETA: I would not necessarily expect the apartment management to tell the police. :iagree: I w...

Re: OR: High School students help write new gun bill 5 round magazines 20 cartridge per month limit.

I admit to limited knowledge but are there really semi-automatic pistols with magazines that only hold 5 rounds? My LCP is 6. While I guess that it would be possible for a 5 round mag to be specially made for say a Glock 19, it would take a special order to get one. My point is that the 5 round limi...

Re: So I walkd into Harbor Freight today...

Can you just imagine what the cashier would do for someone who OC? :biggrinjester: More seriously, I'm convinced that a lot of the public including the cashier have no idea how many people there are with LTCs and how often they do come in contact with people who are carrying. But I can also understa...
