Re: Defensive Snub Revolver

Stephen is no longer with us but if you can find his self published defensive guide to the j frame it'd be well worth the effort. Maybe google fu in e-bay for Stephen A. Camp's shooters guides might be successful. Stephen wrote 'Guides" for the 1911, Browning High Power, J frames, and one novel...

Lead, unused MIHEC brass .45 mold, Saeco top dip

The 'Subject' line has most of the items covered. Star Universal press also. I'm pretty much getting rid of things that would be a chore for family to dispose of. The kids are politely interested, but not too much. My bride and I are moving into a more pleasant neighborhood where we are able to conv...

OOps, my bad. There is a big difference between looking and seeing.

Thanks for your efforts in keeping the map current.

Re: Will they steal my gun in New Orleans?

Kinda strange that a place like NOLA caters to tourism and allows the street thugs, some uniformed, to fleece the tourists. I used to call NOLA home. Now it wouldn't be a sore spot in my childhood if the Ponchatrain scoured the place clean.

Re: Reciprocity Map recent updates?

My Bride and I will be driving around much of The SE United States soon. Trip will start here in TEXAS and will U-Turn somewhere near the end of the Blue Ridge and Shenandoah Pkws. We have TEXAS CHL license and I have UTAH as well. If I read it right, the reciprocity map was last updated several yea...

Re: TX: One less car burglar

Yeah, but... Why would it be necessary to allow the would be thief time and motivation to shoot you DRT? I'd assume that the would be thief would be armed and reluctant to get involved with the Texas Penal System. Dunno if I'd allow the BG that much time. Maybe the assumption is that, if warned, the...

Bar Code

Is the bar code to be used to trace the movement of the application? Can we use the bar code to find the status of pending application?

Re: Questions on Driving thru States that don't honor TXCHL

Changes happen. A couple of years ago, the combination of Texas and Utah Concealed plastic covered about 35 some odd states in recipical agreements. Texas and Florida Concealed authorization opens (did) just about as many doors. My Utah CC authorization hasn't expired yet, so I figure it is still va...

Re: Questions on Driving thru States that don't honor TXCHL

Since you are in Burleson, you might want to check in with an outfit called 'Crossfire' who offers (or did) CHL qualification for Utah. My class was somewhere aroun the Alliance, I35 W area. The Utah plastic opens more doors than Tx.

Re: Dallas Pistol Club

The DPC is a safe place to shoot. The only way that is going to continue to happen is that we monitor each other. If someone is doing something un safe, it was, and still remains, the obligation of each member to remind the offender that there is a safety reason for those rules. If compliance doesn'...

Helo hunt for feral hogs.

I 'thought' shooting from a moving vehicle was a big no-no.

Does that apply to helo hunting as well? I may have an opportunity to have a hand in this venture if I can get all of priorities nailed down.

Thanks,

Re: shoulder arms mfgd prior to the GCA '68

Thanks for the Trapper information. As I understand it, in the 50s-60s, 870s with 18" barrels could be bought with no legal conflict for the owner. The problem with the 18" barrel was that some LEO,s JP Courts, etc, measured the barrels at slightly less than 18". That created more tha...

Re: Which hand gun would you choose if could have just one?

The notion of 'just one' and that one being for forever and a day would require a handy size, durable, and utilitarian sidearm. Something like a K-22 could do just about anything that I'd ever need in a handgun.

Right hand safety lever and the correct size of its roll pin

Right hand safety lever for the BHP and the size of the metric roll pin that holds it in place is needed.

Thanks,

salty

EDIT: Title should read'...safety lever for the BHP and the...'

Couldn't EDIT the thread Title.

Re: buying private gun from someone, how to check the serial

Its a dubious practice, but, if you call your local Sheriff Dept and tell them that you have an opportunity to buy a firearm from a person that has a questionable past and at a ridiculous price, would the Sheriff be kind enough to run the serial numbe? If it has been reported as stolen, be prepared ...
