Re: TX: anti gun New Yorker moves here

I didn't originate from Texas either, but was born and raised in the socialist state of Massachusetts. I was raised in a small town and was allowed hunt in the fall and winter season. I had a stevens 410/ .22 as my weapons. I also had a small range in my backyard. When I left in 1988, I had a pistol...

Re: Pistol Caliber Carbine Roundup

I honesty don't know why people waste their time and money on PCCs. Unless your range forbids shooting 5.56 Carbines (many indoor ranges allow them now), there is no advantage to them when a 5.56 with about three times the effective range is the same size as a PCC. Just my .02, LeonCarr Some of hav...

Re: GUN SAFETY COURSE FOR ILLEGAL CONCEALED CARRY?

So before we get all into the legalize of what can be done to get the underage person illegally carrying a loaded handgun off, shouldn't we first ask the momma WHY her underage son was carrying an illegal weapon, and where he got it???? The 18-year-old isn't underaged to be carrying under MPA. Seei...

Re: Any bank recommendations?

I had everything in Bank of America for Years. Mortgage, Checking and wife's account. Everything was free, but the started charging for everything with surcharges on top of surcharges. Paid off the mortgage and moved everything into Texas First. They don't charge me for anything, pay back a little i...

Re: SCOTUS Allows Sandy Hook Lawsuit to Proceed

I guess I am in the majority here, but I don't think SCOTUS was wrong in their ruling. I actually do not think they had any choice but to deny certiorari. The federal law says gun manufacturers cannot be sued unless they violated a state or federal law. The plaintiffs alleged that Remington violate...

Re: Driving safety to Las Cruces, NM

I make the drive from Houston to El Paso 4 or 5 times a year. 733 miles 11 hours. :banghead: That's why we invented airplanes. A flight ticket could sometimes run you even less than car fuel and most airlines will allow you to transport your defensive tool in a checked bag. Or heck, buy your own pl...

Re: Female Gun Owners: We Prefer the AR-15

We will never be real successful screaming over the interwebs about the second amendment, militias and protecting what is ours. Introduce a young lady to shooting, especially scary ARs. Once you introduce firearms to people and ladies in particular, they will understand they aren't scary and frighte...

Re: Driving safety to Las Cruces, NM

I make that run on I-10 about twice a year. It used to be that Fort Stockton. was pretty much a ghost town, but it's now not a hard place to find a brightly lit stop to get some gas coffee or food in the middle of the night. Avoid getting gas in El Paso, they sell over priced low octane fuels. The b...

Re: No star in upper right corner of your DL? Problems after 10/1/2020.

My TX DL was issued in May, 2016 before DPS started issuing REALID compliant licenses. It doesn’t expire until 2023, so according to DPS website the October 2020 deadline will be more than 2 years before my expiration, leaving me unable to have a federally approved form of ID for boarding aircraft....

I have found that using my passport is much easier. There has never been any questions about a Federally issued ID.
The passport doesn't have your address on it. I hate letting everyone one at the airport know I'm leaving town, and by the way .. Here is where I live.

Re: Oklahoma Constitutional Carry

From the OSBI website https://osbi.ok.gov/handgun-licensing/faq Specifically, > Can I carry in Oklahoma if I have a license from another state? Oklahoma recognizes any valid concealed or unconcealed carry weapons permit or license issued by another state. If you are from a state that allows you to ...

Re: Morman Bloodbath in Mexico

The heart of the drug problem is the consumer. You get rid of the consumer and the suppliers go away. Not prosecuting and actually punishing the abusers is the root of the problem. We need to clean up the problem from this side of the border before we focus on Mexico. Treating the druggies like vic...

Re: Oklahoma Constitutional Carry

Okay folks, can you dumb it down a little for me? I'm getting lost in the weeds a little on this one. If something is called Constitutional Carry and a permit is not required for those legally able to possess a handgun how or why would it only apply to residents of that state? I, of course, have my...
