I would take it further. Don't talk to any Fed any more than Necessary, ever. FBI, IRS, BATF, EPA, Attorney General, Border Patrol, ICE, or Post Office clerk. No good will come of it. And they are motivated to steal your freedom and property any what they can. They can turn your life into a living Hades, and you can do little to defend yourself. They hate you because you are free.

I have to admit, I wasn't a big fan of Nikki Haley being appointed ambassador of the U.N, Although I admired her as a governor I didn't think she had the experience to be an ambassador. Boy was I wrong. She is a powerful speaker and the ability to state what needs to be said without mincing words, while not being condescending to her opposition. A true diplomat.

I was a Libertarian candidate for State Rep position, and I believe strongly in libertarian causes. Unfortunately I do not believe that the party is the is going to be the most effective way to press needed changes forward. The biggest obstacle is that the party does draw votes away from conservative Republican candidates. Those who tend to be liberals will never vote for a Libertarian (the exception being one issue voters who support legalization of Weed) The party has limited resources to support their candidates, The candidates are pretty much on their own for running a campaign. Texas has never voted in a statewide Libertarian candidate. Recent presidential candidates although we may agree with them philosophically, just don't inspire many of us.

The other issue is the lack of serious career-minded candidates. Libertarian minded candidates tend to go toward one of the major parties. If you want to win you have to play the odds. Another issue is that most people believe that Libertarians are far too radical. They may find that although they believe in 90% of the platform that some issues are too extreme for them. Issues such as drug legalizition, and abortion, are not widely acceptable to social conservatives. And free markets, and eliminating regulatory agencies is frightening to the even the moderate Liberal.

I think the most important thing we need to do is to educate the voter. Websites such as Reason the CATO institute do a great job but they tend to mostly preach to the choir.

I believe that the most effective thing we can do is to support libertarian minded Republican candidates. Ron Paul was the most effective officeholder we had in forwarding the libertarian cause, he was wise enough to understand that he would never get elected on a Libertarian Party ticket.

As a voter if the race is closely contested between a Republican and a Democrat. Unless the Republican is very offensive I will vote Republican. If the vote is secure for either party I will cast a vote of support for the LP candidate. I have never yet seen an election where the LP candidate was a serious contender.

When I ran for state Rep. I could not receive an endorsement or even an acknowledgment from the NRA. My single opponent was Democrat Craig Eiland, who somehow got an A rating, although he never advanced any of our 2nd amendment agenda, he just didn't get in way too much. I believe that the NRA was afraid of alienating him rather that support someone who truly believed in our cause.

Was it a good day for America? I think so, but that is what really matters. I am just a simple guy, but I haven't put it together how us bombing Syria makes things better or safer for us. I'm not saying that it doesn't but I've been reading a little bit of Revelations and it seems to describe some of this.

Politicial games. The Freedom Caucus, claims it wasn't good enough. The Leftist are jumpining with joy, the Establishment Republicans are claiming victory because the failure will be blamed on Democrats. We don't even know what the plan was. The only certainty is that American people continue to get screwed over and in todays world everyone is a winner in the blame game.

Here's my understanding of the ACA issue.

I can tell you why I hated it. I buy my own insurance for my wife and I, the premiums went up, the deductables went way up my and insurance covered fewer things, I had to change my plan, and couldn't use my clinic (doctor) anymore. I am now on Medicare, but the couple of years we were uncovered by Obamare was very costly for us.

I posted that second story a few pages ago and they argued right on past like it never happened.

Actually it was a point conceded. To tell the truth I didn't even know about the 2 Obama restrictions were put on. The thing is that the COE and Post Office traps are onerous traps that potentially send the unwary to prison.

Reagan banned automatic Weapons, Bush Sr. Banned semi-autos from coming into the country, and Joined with Gabby Gifford on a gun control tour. Bill Clinton who claimed he would defend gun rights gave us the famous assault weapons ban .. Bush Jr., when he ran for president, claimed to be a 2nd amendment advocate, but promised to renew Bill Clinton's AWB if it came to his desk.

When it comes to gun rights we have been screwed over by every president since LBJ except maybe Nixon Ford and the peanut farmer. I remain skeptical. The born and raised New Yorker wrote in his book in 2000 The America We Deserve , “I generally oppose gun control, but I support the ban on assault weapons and I also support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun,” He is if nothing else flexible on his stand.
He once claimed that he could shoot a man out in the open on Main Street and his supporters would still support him. I just want him to do what is right, and for us gun owners to remind him that he has more work to do. Yes, the chines trade agreements are important, so is the Mexican Border. Being able to go to our own parks and Post offices safely is important too and much simpler to fix.

We use a PO Box for our business mail and check it every day. Yes, it is inconvenient and I'd like to see the rules changed. However, I can wait until some of the more pressing issues are addressed.

While fixing replacing Obamacare is a priority, its pretty much up to Congress to pass a plan. All he can do now is be a cheer leader for reform.

I think that a lot of people think I don't approve of Trump, I like a lot of what he has done. but I also believe that we need to hold his feet to the fire, and if we the gunrights supporters don't expect our rights to be given a priority, then he won't. We let the two Bushes and Reagan off the hook, and they didn't do anything for us.
