Philly Police Harass, Threaten to Shoot Man Legally Carrying

I don’t know about you, but when you come face to face with a LEO that doesn’t know the law and evidently thinks you are a BG and tells you to kneel while holding a gun on you. I would drop to my knees.

Re: Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) filed an amicus brief

Charles L. Cotton wrote:Roy Innis, National Chairman of CORE is on the NRA Board of Directors.

Chas – I didn’t know that, thanks. I did know—If I read the article correctly—Core filed the brief in conjunction with the NRA.

Re: Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) filed an amicus brief

I don’t think this is a black/white thing. As I understand the brief’s purpose is to argue that the San Diego gun laws are discriminatory and were put in place originally with respect to freed slaves and are unlawful because they infringe on civil rights. You are absolutely correct, GrayGuy. I cert...

Re: Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) filed an amicus brief

Wasn't this the gist of Justice Thomas' opinion in the Heller v DC? Wasn't he the only Justice to recognize the historical perspective of Post Civil War gun laws as chiefly designed to keep former slaves from protecting themselves? I don't know. Not sure if this was posted before, but, I thought it...

Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) filed an amicus brief

Not sure if this was posted before, but, I thought it was an interesting read, and if the brief is successful we all benefit. The Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) filed an amicus brief (http://tinyurl.com/3h5hcvp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) in a California concealed c...

Re: Valid Signs

So, then, what’s to be gained by going into an establishment with an illegal 30.06 sign. As I said in my first post, “This makes for a very bad day.” What's to be gained is being legally armed and able to defend yourself if the need arises. Since you are legal, there is really no downside. In the c...

Re: Valid Signs

Hi Guys, Since my initial post I’ve received many responses. Most I don’t think understand what I was saying. This is probably because I’m not very good at expressing my thoughts in writing. I’ll give it another try, so bear with me. In reading the posts in this thread it seemed to me the thought wa...

Paddle Holster Experiences/Advice

I’m thinking of getting a Forbus Paddle holster for my XD-40. I was hoping you guys have had experience with them and could express you feelings. To me it seems easy to slip on, but was wondering if it is comfortable to wear, is there space for a belt to fit between the paddle and the holster. Anywa...

Re: Valid Signs

I’m a new grandpa on the CHL block, and maybe I’m missing the point. Hopefully you guys can explain it to me. Why would you want to go into an establishment with a posted sign restricting guns even if it does not meet the specifications in the law? Isn’t that forcing an issue you could loose not to...
