Kansas Joins Constitutional Carry States
Kansans soon can carry concealed weapons without permits or training under a bill signed by Gov. Sam Brownback on Thursday. The new law, which kicks in July 1, makes Kansas the sixth state to allow “constitutional carry.” Multiple articles are on Town Hall's Bearing Arms page at: http://bearingarms....

Re: Will the ATF try to ban ALL rifle ammo?
While reading up on the ban efforts, I came across the following. It's edited for brevity but is a listing of the various vest protection levels: Type I - (.22 LR; .380 ACP) It is no longer part of the standard. Type IIA - (9 mm; .40 S&W; .45 ACP) Type II - (9 mm; .357 Magnum) Type IIIA - (.357 ...

Re: BATFE To Ban Common AR-15 Ammo
What wasn't mentioned in today's news about M855 was the .30-06 M2 black tip. It also was specifically exempted. Did the ATF cretins cave on M855 while still striking the exemption for M2? I don't trust these folks at all.

Re: Poll: What would be your only rifle?
One centerfire hunting rifle. Easy answer. I'd keep my Model 70 in .375 H&H Magnum. It's killed a boatload of critters and handles like a dream.

Re: Good Ballistic Software
best I've ever seen is DEBP.BAS Written by CE Davis in the early 80's. It supports any normal sized rifle round. I added a recoil calculation section to mine. I also have an electronic version I wrote of the Powley PSI Calculator. These are a great set. They do require Microsoft Basic (not VB) so I ...

Re: State Fair
When I went to the State Fair last year when the gate security started to wand me I pointed at the DPD officer and said I needed to speak to him. Showed the officer my CHL. His response was to remind me the Old Mill Stream restaurant was 30.06 posted and that the Cotton Bowel was off limits during ...

10 year old ammo isn't old, it's still very new. I'm still shooting dove loads I bought in the 70's. Some were bought at Target if that gives you a hint of how old they are.

I have a Maxpedition that I picked up at a gun show. Works great on the thickest of belts. Here's a link to one of the several sizes it comes in: http://www.maxpedition.com/store/pc/4-CLIP-ON-PHONE-HOLSTER-8p440.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Look at the side view and y...

Lately I'm liking Village Burger. Ye Olde Butcher Shop is pretty good too, and not an often mentioned choice (don't think that means it won't be packed).

Re: M1 Garand sighting in today.
I've been seeing a bunch of 30-06 150gr. ammo on the shelves lately. Will any 150gr. be safe in an M1? Read this if you haven't already... http://www.garandgear.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=106:shooting-commercial-ammunition-in-your-m1-garand&catid=39" onclick=&...

I thought is was ok, if a bit clunky. I really liked their Pico handgun (i was the only one in our group who did); it reminded me of a Ruger LCP w/ sights from a Sig P238.
