Re: Unfair to use an AR-15 against would-be burglars?

When deadly force is needed or used, "fairness" is not a standard to be concerned with. The concern should only be whether it is reasonable for a person to utilize deadly force or not.

Re: feeding issues with savage .22

I had a Savage Mark II FVT for a while and it fed fine from the original magazine and the two extra magazines I acquired. I would guess that something is amiss with the magazine catch on the gun (most likely) or perhaps the feed lips on the magazine. When you are pushing the bolt forward, do the bul...

Re: MI: Univ staff being issued "weapons" to combat active shooters

Did they issue holsters as well?? Off-body carry won't insure that the "weapon" is at hand and ready to use. I suppose pocket carry is an option with certain attire.

Re: Living without a 2nd Amendment

The Second Amendment is simply an enumerated natural right. At is base, it is the right do defend oneself. While laws may (regrettably and unjustly) penalize defending yourself, it is still a natural right.

Re: Star Telegram poll on Constitutional Carry - go vote

This morning, with 5,242 votes cast, the margin has narrowed to 54% in favor and 46% opposed. It seems that Brady / Moms Demanding Attention got the word out after seeing the reported extremely strong support early on.

Re: Self-defense help?

Competitive shooting provides practice in manipulating the gun, engaging multiple targets, moving and shooting, sometimes shooting while moving and sometimes shooting moving targets. To boot, these opportunities can provide some stress to the situation (but nothing like a full-on adrenaline dump). D...

Re: At This Point Is 'Fireclean' Found Wanting or...?

Different strokes... If you, as I suspect most of us here do, clean your guns fairly frequently, the CLPs, including FireClean, FrogLube and others can keep your arms clean and well lubed. I would not trust these products to Uncle Joe Bob's truck gun that hasn't been cleaned in a coon's age. There a...

Re: Please pray for two friends of mine who lost their little boy today.

Heavenly Father, we lift Sarah and Evan up to you in prayer. Our hearts ache for the loss and grief they are surely experiencing. You know the pain they are feeling and we pray for the peace only You can give as a balm to broken hearts. Wrap your healing arms around Sarah and Evan. Give them rest in...

I packaged mine in the original black case within a box. No magazines or anything other than the gun itself in the case.

Sent mine off a couple of days ago. Their recall materials said turnaround should be 6-8 weeks.

Re: Thoughts on the Governor

JMPO, the Taurus Judge series and the S&W Governor are solutions looking for a problem. I'd rather have one of these than no gun at all, and I'd rather have the Governor over any of the Judges, but the guns I already have are what I prefer for home/personal defense. These are 9mm semi-auto pistols a...

Re: JM 1894 in .357 Mag

Value depends greatly on the overall condition the gun is in. Also, 1894s that pre-date the move to the cross bolt safety can command a bit of a premium over more recent guns. My wife has one such, made in the late '70s I think, that she wouldn't sell for any price. It is not mint, but in very good ...

Re: Must Barrell Ends Be Threaded To Accept A Suppressor?

The issue with coming up with an adapter for a sound suppressor is maintaining concentricity with the bore well enough to prevent baffle strikes within the suppressor. Do your Colt 6920 and S&W 15-22 not have a muzzle device (flash suppressor) on them already? If so, they are likely affixed via thre...

Re: Can Beto O’Rourke really beat Ted Cruz?

when considering the difference in polling between Ted and Beto you also need to remember that Beto outspent Ted by a significant margin, had major star power pushing for him, The media in his pocket, and a serious socialist movement in his corner -- yet he still lost. On paper, and in the minds of...
