Re: Practical Implementation of Universal Background Checks

As you point out, the effectiveness of Universal Background Checks isn't expected to be measured by a drop in the criminal use of firearms. UBC isn't designed to affect criminals at all -- only otherwise law abiding citizens. It is also my understanding that a Government database of firearms ownersh...

Re: House of Worship/Church Safety Meeting Problems

Everyone who worships wants to do so in safety. For me, that means that I choose to worship where I and my fellow congregants can legally be armed. Our church is posted 30.07, which I have no problem with. I serve on a rotating basis as a primary security person, attending worship in the narthex, lo...

Re: Issue with Sig P365

The only gun I have seen this sort of thing happen in was a Scandium frame, Titanium cylinder, S&W 325PD when using 230 gn Blazer aluminum cased ammo. The aluminum cases did not grip the bullet well enough to prevent them from creeping out (there was no crimp into a cannelure) due to the momentum of...

Re: FL: Father kills son in law accidentally with one shot from .380

The corollary to "know your target" is "know when, where, how and who you can surprise at night". This is a tragic result of failures in front of, and behind, the gun.

Re: S&W announces M&P 2.0 12+1 Subcompact Pistol

Still have and carry the M&P Gen. 1 9C. New generation, but same gun. I don't see much news here, other than S&W trying to capitalize on the market for guns in the 10 - 12 round magazine capacity. To me, S&W missed the mark... the competition (SIG P365 and the new Springfield gun) are significantly ...

Re: Places worse than Houston

Criminal violence happens everywhere and social decay has eliminated shame as a guiding force even for violent criminals. Sadly, this means that Churches (often true sanctuaries in the past with their door always open) now have to implement real security measures for premises and staff. As to the he...

Re: Politicians Violating Their Oath of Office

People in the choir know there are other choir members singing and choir members don't falsely and publicly call out other members for not singing. Also, most choirs do not appreciate the know-it-all that shows up out of no where and starts lecturing the other choir members. I agree with these poin...

Re: Politicians Violating Their Oath of Office

You are preaching to the choir, not the peanut gallery. Interesting note about being in a choir... the most beautiful sounds can only be made when the choir members can each hear one another. When one or more members raises their voice above all others to the point that they can't, or won't, hear e...

The pesky thing about natural human rights is that regardless of Government acknowledgement -- like that enshrined in the Second Amendment -- they still exist.

Re: Eating is linked to cancer

It seems to me that a person has an increased likelihood of getting cancer by continuing to exist. The only sure way to prevent a cancer diagnosis is to die prior to being diagnosed.

Re: CA: four times more likely to die in a mass fire than a mass shooting

The Leftist/Statist/media slant to demonize firearms is plainly evident to anyone who cares to do a little research. This slant serves one purpose -- to ultimately make individual ownership of firearms a criminal act, thereby ceding all effective deadly force options to the Government and (other) cr...

Re: What would YOU do?

Seek exit from the vicinity for my party by using cover/concealment wherever possible and transiting open spaces as quickly and low-profile as possible, being ready to engage with the shooter at any point along the way. Assist others along the way where possible. My duty is to my loved ones first an...

Re: Would you support this gun private purchase restriction

The ability of bad actors to acquire and use practically any tool to inflict violence upon me and mine tells me that it is not prudent to restrict in any way my ability to secure proper tools for defense and train in their use. My fellow man should have the same ability. That my innate Right to defe...
