people that, when they may not agree with me, at least will hear me out (as I will also hear their perspective) and discuss things in a civil manner. I also like dogs, but they are almost always pretty willing to listen.

Re: Your 2019 EDC

M&P 9C (Not 2.0) + 17rd extra mag, or Walther PPS M2 + 7 and 8 round extra mags, or BodyGuard 380 plus two extra mags. Same as the last 8 or 9 years except for the PPS. I don't anticipate a change any time in the next decade or so, but who knows...

Registration, plus a $10/gun/year fee for renewal. Perhaps lawmakers in Pennsylvania want to find a new revenue stream so they can spend more...

Re: Level of response

As with so many things, how I respond to someone stealing my property will largely be related to my feelings about the property itself and the circumstances of how it is being / was stolen. One thing to keep in mind always is that property is just that and can likely be replaced (insurance can be a ...

Re: Off The Beaten Path - Kermit, TX

City of my birth over a half-century ago. My parents graduated from KHS. All my family moved away from Kermit by the 1980s, buy my Aunt's in-laws still live there. When I told my wife-to-be that I was born in Kermit, she (being a fan of the muppets) couldn't believe there was a town in Texas with su...

Re: HB 3054 - Designating June as Gun Violence Awareness month

Don't you just love it when nonsense, made-up phrases like 'gun violence" are used in nonsense virtue signaling bills by folks whose personal virtue is somewhat suspect? Seriously, though, it does look like the Progressives are trying to inflict death by a thousand cuts.

Re: IN: Pawn shop clerk shoots robber

If you scan for these type stories, as I do, I've noticed lately that a number of stories that involve a defensive gun use do not explicitly label them as such, or as self-defense. When the narrative you are pushing involves the use of made-up terms like "gun violence", this is the sort of reportin...

Re: TAM got me to thinking.

Soapbox, Ballot Box and Cartridge Box... judicious use of the first two may go a long way toward preventing the need for the third. So, talk (and write), vote (in primaries as well as general elections) and keep your powder dry.

Re: Uniquely Texan - The Texas Longhorn

My uncle wrote his doctoral thesis on "The Social and Economic impact of the Longhorn to Texas". He is a small scale breeder and worked with the YO on some aspects of his thesis.

Re: Your #1 Favorite Firearm you have

I guess mine are favorites of the moment. Each firearm I have owned had to fit a performance niche and had to be one I enjoy shooting. I have a few multiples for one reason or another. The favorite for me is the one I just shot, the one I am currently shooting or the one I expect to shoot next.

Re: Real estate agents getting concealed gun permits

Getting the permit / license is a step. Like most tools, proficiency requires familiarity, training and practice. Given the confines of buildings being shown, some good empty hand and edged weapons training and practice would be a good idea too. I asked how she knew someone was inside and she said i...

Re: Art Acevedo having another fever dream....

When I go to vote, I vote for folks to REPRESENT me in Government. I am more than happy to lead myself, with God's help. I do NOT vote for anyone to lead me. Mr. Acevedo and his ilk who believe that officials are elected to be leaders (delusions of grandeur, much??) can pound sand.

Re: Extrajudicial Killing

And I guess what it also means is that I recognize just how thin the veneer of civilization is on people. Well, at least on me I know it is thin. I want to be civilized and I try to be civilized, but I know I would get very savage very quickly in certain cases. The conviction behind this statement ...
