That said, I have a revolver in my car, and another revolver near my bed. Just in case I need a gun that will work with absolute certainty, every single time. No semi-auto has that level of reliability, IMHO.
There are 1911s that are reliable and there are small 1911s that aren't. Just ask Rob Pincus

Seriously, a full size .45 ACP 1911 is typically pretty reliable, but who wants to carry that on your hip all day in 97 degree heat - yeah real men fine, but not me

9mm 1911s are notorious for not running. Small .45 ACP 1911s are REALLY notorious for not running. Unless you want to spend the money on a Wilson Combat, finding a small (Officer's) size .45 or 9mm 1911 that is 100% reliable is a challenge. Sure, there are examples that are, but just as many that aren't.

Now when you talk small 1911s in 9mm you have the only contender in my opinion - the Springfield EMP. Great little gun, I own two. BUT, mine are not 100% reliable with all ammo - 124gr +P Gold Dot will NOT run in them.

It's the only 1911 that's even close to the size of the P365 and holds 9 rounds, and is a lot heavier.

Soccerdad1995 wrote: Tue Jun 05, 2018 3:50 pm Net-net, if you are looking at this as a carry gun, don't get it yet. Wait til they work out the bugs. But if you have several carry guns and want to try your luck, then go ahead and pick one up. Just shoot 3-4 times more rounds than you normally would before you start carrying it. Worst case, you will need to make a couple trips to your local FedEx facility, and will need to make a phone call. This really is a cool little gun. Once they get the kinks worked out, it will definitely be a keeper, IMHO.
Wow, that is unfortunate. I learned after I got mine, the slide comes off easier if you push on the rear with your thumb while pulling down on the slide release and making sure the take down lever is held down.

As I've said previously, mine is still running like a top, with at least 300 rounds down range. Many owners have well over 1000 trouble free rounds through theirs. Phil Strader recently made more comments that you can read on SigTalk http://sigtalk.com/p250-p320-p365-p320- ... 365-q.html or on the two Facebook P365 groups.

I'm can't wait to get my second one.

Oh good grief it is not. Mine is perfect, probably 400 rounds downrange, another 100 today. OVERWHELMING majority of owners are happy. YES, there have been some issues with some guns, just as there has been with EVERY OTHER gun ever manufactured (Caniks, Glock 42, 43, Gen 4 19, M&P 380EZ, CCP, SA XDS, M&P Shield, Ruger LCP, and on and on).

The internet allows users with issues to immediately highlight THEIR issues and when copied to a multitude of FORUMS, etc, appears to magnify issues. It's just not so. More and MORE users on the Facebook P365 groups are posting POSITIVE reports, and are starting to outnumber the Hyper-VOCAL users with negative issues.

Yes, I own a Sig p365. Yes, mine works fine. There are Tens of Thousands of us that are satisfied. Many owners don't participate in the forums free-for-all.

So, bottom line - if you have an issue with the P365, Sig will fix it. So, what's the problem?

Re: Do Own A Sig 365?

I was lucky to get my P365 from Cabelas, ordered online on 4/12/18 for $529, picked up on 4/20. They have now cut off orders and have 3000+ on back order. I got mine cheap ($410 out the door) because I used Cabelas rewards points

I've run probably 200 FMJ through it and close to 100 JHP of various rounds and it has been flawless, save one Midwest JHP that failed to extract, probably due to the fact these are very lightly loaded rounds. Mine is very accurate from 3-7 yards, because of the small size, hard to shoot one hole groups beyond that - at least for me

We have one at the range rental counter at Shoot Point Blank NRH, hundreds of FMJ down range, no failures that I'm aware of.

Mine fits my hand great, I do have smaller hands. And the 12 round mag is not HUGE by any means, only adds roughly a third of an inch to the grip over the flush 10 rounder. Less than that compared to the 10 round with finger extension.

It has a great trigger (I think better than standard P320), great sights, very easy to carry in an IWB holster (which is my required mode of carry at work).

Has it been over-hyped? Heck yeah for good reason. Can you find it for less than MSRP of $599? Absolutely, if you are patient and smart, yes. Academy's shipments have come in at $529. Brownell's has "thousands" on back order for $499 (I have 2 on order there). The places that have them in stock are gouging people if not a big box retailer. Shame on them.

P.S. Fixed my backorders at Brownell's today and only have one on order now, 3/23/18 date. They are working to finish filling January back orders :banghead:

BTW, I sold my Shield 1.0 with safety, never did really like it. P365 is my regular carry now.

I would sell my PPS M1, and my Kahr PM9, but I'd have to practically give them away so I'll just hang on to them. They won't get carried and shot much anymore. ;-)
