I bought a used Ruger M77 Hawkeye with a Redfield 3x9 scope attached that worked amazing. I think I paid $250 for it. I have since upgraded the stock (Boyds) and scope (Silver Prostaff 5 3.5-14). Don't have a scale, but according to some sites about estimating based on measurements, I would say 250lbs. She was a very healthy (Lots of fat) for a wild pig. Was probably the cleanest, nicest looking wild pig I have ever got.

IMO I would get a bolt gun. I have an AK 308 (Saiga), AR-10, and a Ruger M-77 in .308. I love shooting the AK, it is so smooth and easy to shoot. However, it is heavy as frigg and just not viable for hunting. The AR platform is great, but in 308 it just isn't that fun to shoot. It would probably do ...
