Congrats! Where will you be looking for a job?
I'm looking at Georgetown or Round Rock, I have applications in with both of those agencies and I test with Georgetown next Saturday.

Re: My life in the Police Academy

So we did OC Certification yesterday... um.... yah... It was probably the most horrible thing I have felt to this day. Our Chief has videos of us all running through the course so if y'all are lucky I will post mine when he gives it to us. A hint to anyone that has the misfortune of having to go thr...

Re: Got a P226

I used my sig to qualify at the academy, and throughout the past week it ran 1,000 rounds without a flaw. It was cleaned every night, so I don't know how many it can run through without being cleaned but I do know we ran our guns pretty hard this past week. Every person who had a block (side story: ...

Re: My life in the Police Academy

Did you find the various laws tough to absorb and retain? I've always been curious how well policemen have to know the law. Sorry it took so long to get back, no not really, you need to have a working knowledge of the laws but theres nothing that says if you get stumped you can't look up the answer...

Re: A Defense to the Prosecution

Someone tell me why/how PC 21.06 is still on the books.... http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/docs/pe/htm/pe.21.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It does say 21.06 was declared unconstitutional, but 21.01(1) still says pretty much the same thing. 21.01(1) is just a def...

Re: My life in the Police Academy

So I have been quiet for awhile, the academy has been keeping me pretty busy. We just finished up SFST this past week, it was a pretty sweet class and I actually got to put it to use on a ride along with RR where the officer let me watch over her shoulder and look for clues. Next week we have our se...

Re: Off Duty Deputy's throat slashed during bank robbery

We watched a video on knives in the academy... lets just say a knife can do some pretty nasty things and they should be taken very seriously.

Re: Canton OH police officer saved by civilian hero

Great story. Highly recommend everyone read the ENTIRE article. In addition to a wonderful story of a fellow citizen helping an officer in distress and very likely saving his life (or at least preventing further debilitating injury). To take this a step further, I'm curious about the police officer...

Trigger modifications to a P226 DAK?

What trigger modifications are available for the P226 DAK? I love the DAK but I wouldn't mind if I could get it a little lighter.

Re: Texas License Plate Law?????

There's actually a couple of things that could happen. The Governor could call an emergency session and they make a modification to the law to correct it. Or, I think a Judge can override the law and cause the change to not go into effect until the session could meet again and make the changes need...
