Your study may show one thing, but facts and history show another.
I would say it's more likely it was paid for by the AMA. Still biased, though; the AMA has been anti-gun for decades.

Re: bullpup conversion kit for mossberg 500

I've not dealt with any myself, but from what I've heard, the bullpup conversion kits tend to have horrible triggers. Even the KSG's suffered somewhat, I understand. The issue is that the trigger is so far forward of the action that you've got to have a long trigger linkage, which introduces plenty ...

Re: CZ 75

I'd put the CZ 75 right up there with the Browning High Power as one of the most fun 9mm guns to shoot. Mine has been as functional and reliable as a Glock, with better ergonomics and comparable capacity. I would carry it, but work issued me a pistol without any external safety, so I've been driftin...

Re: G2R R.I.P. Ammunition...Thoughts?

Placement, penetration, and expansion. The first is up to the shooter. The rest... Every review I've seen of this ammo, like the other posters, is that it's junk. It's essentially frangible ammunition, designed to fly apart after impact. In soft gelatin, it -might- make the FBI's minimum, but what a...

Re: S&W 686 Plus

The 686 is a .357, not a .44. I had a 686 6-shot. It shot quite well for me and recoil was quite manageable with all loads; I never carried it because I had the 6" tube, but I'd have no qualms at all about carrying a shorter version. If you can, look for a "pre-lock" revolver. There aren't many 686+...

Re: Ammo Storage in the Garage

I know two people that accidentally baked their guns. They thought that the oven was a good place to hide a loaded pistol, but failed to inform their lady-folk, who a little while later set the oven to preheat in preparation for some baking. The polymer frames of the pistols melted to the pan racks,...

Re: Gun owners, seize the momentum!

Ah, until the SCOTUS recognizes the fact carrying firearms are constitutional right everywhere it is public and of course on your property. Companies can still deny you carrying on their permises. Even if you're gay and NEVER EVER owned a confederate battle flag? Ah, Liberals would give you a heart...

Re: Accident With Off Duty Officer

Not wanting to change the subject, but this reminds me of when I ran a Virginia State Trooper off the road. I moved into the left lane and for him to miss me he went into the ditch, dust went flying and he come out of that ditch with his lights on. I had already pulled over, knowing that this could...

Re: Type of snake?

Another indicator is the back scales. Any pit viper, IIRC, will have "keeled" scales, with a rough ridge running down the middle of each scale. Now, some non-venomous snakes also have these scales, like the bullsnake / gopher snake, but if it's got smooth scales, is not a coral snake, and is in Texa...

Re: Iconic gunmaker Colt is on the brink of bankruptcy

Here we go. Try this on for size. IF Colt does go belly up and the courts order liquidation, I think that someone will buy the trade name Colt and start manufacturing 1911's all over again. And I think the company who will buy the name will be Armscor. :smash: I'll do ya one worse. Taurus. I...

Just like ladies and their purses ;-) . I have handguns in .380, 9mm, .357 Sig, .40 and .45 - something for every occasion.

Re: Glock 27 to 26 and Back

Is there a plus to the .357 Sig verses the .40? Actually, no they're different. I wouldn't compare the two. The Sig was designed to give a high capacity auto loader the same performance as a .357 Magnum - without the flash and muzzle blast. It does that with regard to flash. Muzzle blast is diminis...
