Re: 5.56 A Superior Round?

Here's why you don't shoot 5.56 NATO in a .223 chamber: [ Image ] [ Image ] Any questions? Oh my goodness! Not yours, I hope? Shooter okay? I searched Google images for " 5.56 kaboom in .223 chamber " and these pictures were posted on another forum, both in the same post. I don't really know what h...

Re: Illinois Passes Right to Carry

I would greatly have preferred them passing nothing. Way I understand it, per a court order, if Illinois hadn't passed anything, they would have automatically been forced to accept Constitutional Carry, no license required for open or concealed. All this bill is, is an attempt to buy time with the c...

Re: like a 30.06 but just a little bigger.

I'd bet it IS .30-06, just... manufactured out of spec. If it's foreign military surplus, I'd not be surprised at all to see variances like that. Looking at the extraction groove, I'd guess the Greek stuff was "modified" to allow a heavier, more difficult to break extractor, as well as moving the wa...

Re: Dick's Sporting Goods

We have a Dicks Sporting Goods here in Las Cruces. I looked in once. It's a giant Big 5 Sporting Goods, only everything is more expensive due to Name Brand being on the merchandise. The firearms/hunting/shooting section was sparse in selection, even compared to my own meager collection, and comprise...

Re: 5.56 A Superior Round?

keep in mind that basically every rifle has a wylde (hybrid) chamber nowadays. Not sure why you would say that. Most ARs are 5.56 chambered which will fire both rounds. Some rifles are chambered for .223 wylde but they should say .223 wylde on the barrel. If it just says .223 then it is dangerous t...

Re: Need a "Sound Judgment Evaluation": Psychiatrist Needed!

Yet another reason I am firmly against any and all "psychiatric evaluations" in order to exercise our Constitutional rights. PwnRanger is in exactly the sort of situation that Those Who Know Better want for all of us, that of asking Permission from a NON-impartial, BIASED "third party." Any psychiat...

More like he'll continue to go after the whistleblowers. Dodson's been in limbo for years now, a pariah in the agency, along with anyone else that dared to speak up.

Re: I could watch this all day long...

OK, so can someone explain to me WHY, with ALL of those cool machines running 24X7 at ALL ammo factories in ALL calibers, there is STILL NO AMMO AVAILABLE - ESPECIALLY .22LR??????? It's JUST NUTS!!!! :banghead: Oh, forgot, the government is buying all of it; and of course, THEY get priority...... :...

Re: Growing them young up in yankee land

If you're from outside the United States, any American citizen is a "yankee." If you're from the US, west of the Mississippi, anyone east of the Mississippi is a "yankee." If you're from east of the Mississippi, and south of the Mason-Dixon line, anyone east of the Mississippi and north of the M-D l...

Re: Dropped a loaded gun for the first time; all appears wel

Given the abuse I and my coworkers put our issued duty pistols through, I wouldn't worry about it one bit. My duty gun has eaten dirt, eaten pavement, eaten barbed wire, and any number of other things, and that's all while it was holstered! I dislike the model they chose for us, but I do have to adm...

If I had to guess, my guess would be the feed lip on the right side of the mag is bent open a tad near the front of the magazine.

Re: First Time Today!!!!!

Make your letter of protest brief - it'll have greater impact. No one will read a long diatribe... I must disagree. If you have the ability to get "creatively vitriolic" in a long diatribe, -without- resorting to curse words or foul imprecations, it DOES get their attention. I had an "incident" wit...

Re: Marketplace Fairness Act

I cannot fathom how this would not require a new, massive, federal bureaucracy to implement. Not only will there need to be a large number of new bureaucrats ready at the phone to answer questions and sort out different state and local tax jurisdictions, but there will also need to be a new federal...

Re: Marketplace Fairness Act

Just like we are supposed to have the moral/legal character to pay local tax directly to the state on items that we purchase on the internet - that is the current law. This is one of my quibbles, though; laws put into place that cannot be enforced absent some outsized, overreaching bureaucracy with...
