Re: Marketplace Fairness Act

Three questions I ask for bills like this. A) Does this constitute an effective tax increase, if it works as advertised? B) Will this require a new governmental bureaucracy and accompanying regulations to be implemented? C) What are the probable unintended consequences? I think the answers are "Yes,...

Re: SCOTUS rules against warrantless DWI blood draws

If we know that BAC changes at the rate of 2% per hour and it takes four hours to get the warrant and take the sample, can't the DA argue in court that the true BAC is 8% higher than the measured BAC? After all, it's scientifically valid. I thought that was already the case in multiple jurisdictions.

Re: Interesting

Whew, ten pages (and counting!) of back and forth. I sincerely doubt the notion that EEllis is a Law Enforcement Officer. The thing is, while the courts do recognize the subjectivity of an officer's observations on a stop, and take them into account during deliberations of what is reasonable or not,...

Any CZ 75 .40 cal magazine should also work. The Baby Eagle, CZ, and TZ all use the same magazines.

Good luck finding them, though. The craze is hitting just about everything.

Re: So... anyone seen these guys rolling around town? (Dalla

If honest, I think we all recognize that the fact it's a "government vehicle" plays a large role in the way it's treated. Yeah, this is a factor. So is "this is what this truck was bought for," even if it's not quite what the manufacturer intended when it was built. Most "off-road" vehicles were in...

The undercarriage/suspension/frame damage is usually, as has been stated, from -extremely- rough dirt roads. The desert mountains are extremely rough on the roads, which cannot be paved. What land along the border that isn't private property, along with the property rights that follow, is either "ow...

Re: Campus and Open carry could be dead

But I have never understood why anyone would want to open Carry!!! Because summer carry anywhere south of the Mason-Dixon line gets "interesting" trying to keep it concealed without overheating? Because sometimes you don't want to sweat all over your pistol? Because sometimes you don't want to both...

Re: Are You “Psychologically Competent” to Own a Weapon?

Infringing someone's rights because they have a mental illness and "might do something" is no different than infringing their rights because they're black or Jewish or gay, and "they might do something." There are tens of thousands, and more, people out there who under current "clinical" definitions...

A Paul/Lee or Paul/ Susana Martinez 2016 ticket would be fun to watch. No, it wouldn't. Susanna Martinez is dumber than a box of rocks, and is someone I cannot vote for. As a New Mexico resident, I have seen her in action, in the court room (prior to running for governor), and she is fairly incompe...

Re: .45 Colt .357 mag or .44 Mag

I'm a big fan of the .45 Colt, chambered in a revolver from Ruger and a Rossi 92. With these two, I can go from "bunny" loads all the way up to, and slightly past, standard .44 Magnum loads (made somewhat easier by the fact that I handload). Makes the cartridge useful for everything from plinking to...

...a requirement for a 5.56x45mm NATO, select-fire firearm suitable for personal defense... DHS actually IS buying "assault rifles." It's fancy legal-speak for an M-4. Both Border Patrol and Customs use them; Border Patrol far more often (AFAIK) than Customs due to the terrain BP works and the much...

Here in Texas, more votes against the big O wouldn't have mattered. He didn't carry Texas, and winner-take-all means that winning or losing by 1 vote is enough. It's the folks who didn't show up in Ohio, Michigan, Virginia, Nevada, Wisconsin, Florida, New Mexico, and Colorado that should be kicking...

Re: The problem with guns is the government

I'm certain it's been pointed out before, but I'm gonna do it again. Be very, VERY careful talking about mental illness as a reason to deny someone their Second Amendment rights! With the proliferation of "disorders" added to the vernacular every year (Attention Deficit, Oppositional Defiant, variou...

Re: Gun Shell Split ???

I had a whole explanation typed here, and then noticed KeithB already beat me to it. "rlol" On a side note: It may be an old "Victory" revolver. The .38 S&W and the British .38-200 were externally identical (the British loaded a heavier bullet), and a number of "Victory" revolvers were "accidentally...
