Re: Obama admin asserts dominion over creeks, streams, & pud

Reminds me of that supposed "border dispute" between Texas and Oklahoma, along the river bank, and how the feds tried to jump in. Betcha they're gonna try to spank both states for defying "federal ahthoritah."

Re: Clarification on proposed open carry law

If the constitution already prohibits the conduct that the Dutton/Huffines Amendments seek to address, why would the language found in the Dutton/Huffines Amendments be any more effective than the "no guns" signs? It would, if and only if the language found in the amendments provided civil and lega...

Re: New Guard vs Old Guard

Seriously, we had a concentrated message coming from the NRA and TSRA prior to fringe groups like OCT, OCTC, CATI, NAGR, etc. splintering off because the NRA wasn't going as far as they wanted to. Instead of trying to change the nationally recognized groups from the inside, they decided to start th...

Re: New Guard vs Old Guard

Are the Rs this incompetent or do we really need to look at wolfs in sheep clothing aka Straus. I believe the short answer to your question is "yes." Consider, the legislature's perspective, though. Gun-rights advocates are deeply divided on priorities in Texas. The side whose ideals I, and I imagi...

From another forum: "Someday, somebody is going to drive a nail through a board and take over that country." It won't happen. The United States will send our young military over there to die for them. Naw, it'll be an internal takeover. Our military will be given safe passage, however, in exchange ...

Re: Cleveland PD to start wearing pink tutus - almost

Given that a car is a one-ton-plus reusable, directable bullet, this makes absolutely no sense, unless there's something buried deep in it to provide clarification. I know of many officers that have been attacked -with a vehicle-. No other weapon was used. I know of several that were hit. One who di...

Re: Gun you would buy if you could find it...

[snip] I need the smaller frame, shorter trigger reach du to being "digitally challenged". I also have the Super Red Hawk .44 mag that I shoot quite well single action, but my short stubby trigger finger has to really struggle with double action shots. I NEED the shorter trigger pull of a frame bet...

I'm just waiting for when it'll be legal for me to carry my grandfather's 6" S&W 27-2 in a proper rig in the state of my birth. Until then, Texas is still on my "naughty list."

3 or 4 inch Ruger SP101 sized (as near as possible) .41 mag .... and preferable Ruger made Then a 16 inch '92 (or '94 if need be) in .41 mag And, maybe a stainless Black Hawk Hunter .... in .41 mag When that wish list is fulfilled, there will be some .357's and .44 mags "on the market. (with a bunc...

Dangit, TAM, I came back from vacation and saw the thread title, had a whole post ready to write in my head as answer, read through the responses, and realized you'd already written it!

Re: Gun you would buy if you could find it...

It's a fairly short list, but if I found them for sale, as a price equitable to me (fat chance!), I would snatch up in a heartbeat: 1) Original "short-rail" CZ 75 2) Savage 99 in .358 Winchester 3) Winchester 88 in .358 Winchester I already have most of my other "grail guns;" all that's left is a Gl...

Re: Which City Would You Live In?

Boise, Idaho I've got kin living up there, the winters are mild in comparison to other northern cities, there's mountains, fishing, forests, and the like, and Idaho is a -very- gun friendly state. Dallas is a no-go. Too many people there. Same for Phoenix and Salt Lake City. Denver's right out, both...
