Re: Gun bills on the Senate intent calendar today

Listening to Sen. Wendy Davis makes me ill. That fact that she was elected to the Senate is puzzling beyond belief. Chas. Can you clarify what this does. A license holder commits an offense if the license holder carries a handgun on or about the license holder's person under the authority of Subcha...

The dead are an underrepresented group...therefore each of them should be able to vote as many times as necessary.

RottenApple, The case which is generally regarded as "the high watter mark" of the commerce clause is Katzenbach v. McClung, aka the Ollie's BBQ case. It involved a small BBQ restaurant several miles away from the nearest federally funded highway. Skipping ahead, the court held that the impact of th...

Re: Magpul LEO Sales

This is an example of how important our oath is to most veterans. It should also tell you something about how we conduct ourselves in combat. So when you read stories about atrocities in Vietnam, or Iraq, or Afghanistan, weigh those stories in that light. Yes, there are atrocities committed by memb...

Re: Help with storing firearms long-term

I seem to recall articles in mainstream magazines such as Field & Stream on how to cache arms for long term storage during the Clinton era.

Isn't she the one who referred to the Constitution as "just an old piece of paper"?

Re: John Cornyn gets a primary challenger

Actually, there is an interesting question whether the Feds have legislative jurisdiction over wholly intrastate sales between private individuals (those not holding an FFL). The Federal nexus, if there is one at all, would be thinner than a sheet of paper. With respect to Sen. Cornyn, his remarks t...

I don't know that I have seen anything about the process taking less time for people whose prints are already on file. Has anyone seen/heard anything in that regard?

Re: 2013 Knife Rights Bills

The intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly predicate - connotates the CRIMINAL intent of a 46.02(a) offense. "illegal knives" are still weapons of arms that the Texas Legislature only has power , by law, to REGULATE the wearing of......NOT PROHIBIT the wearing of.....let alone declare knives "ille...

Re: 2013 Knife Rights Bills

I don't really understand the focus on switchblade knives alone. I realize that they are "prohibited items" which are generally illegal to purchase or possess in Texas, but there are simply so many knife restrictions that it is absurd (omitting, for the moment, the San Antonio situation). The P.C. b...

I sent mine in Priority Mail, Certified, Return Receipt Requested just to be able to prove DPS got it in case it comes to that. It was not until two days after it was in Austin that it was delivered (I kept copies of everything). I don't know if USPS was that slow or if DPS doesn't pick up the mail ...

I recommend calling Hodgdon to speak with one of their ballisticians. 913-362-9455 They can give you useful advice. There are a lot of choices these days, including a number which have lower flash which can help to approximate factory loads which are formulated to reduce muzzle flash which can impai...

Re: Reduce Off-Limits Areas for Texas CHL’s

Any updates? There sure seems to be a lot of buzz on open carry....but I know many folks who are 200 times more interested in this process. Only a small update. I/we gave up on the first Senator and it is now being considered by a Houston area Senator. Chas. Has there been any news on this matter? ...
