Re: Pool Party Mayhem in McKinney

Been an interesting day. There is a protest scheduled to end at the pool, which is closed on Mondays for cleaning and routine maintenance. I'm not sure how that is going to go over when 1400 already confirmed protesters find out that nobody is swimming today and the pool is locked up. Lots of posts ...

Re: Pool Party Mayhem in McKinney

The hothead was the supervisor, also the 1st officer on the scene. That might explain his amped up demeanor while the others seemed to just let him go nuts. Keep in mind 10 more units were in route, as were the fire dept and EMT. I agree the guy could have simmered down, but I don't think his action...

Re: Pool Party Mayhem in McKinney

Thank you for the first hand account. I watched the video before reading the thread here and had the same reaction about the two males flanking the officer while he was restraining the uncooperative female. The one reaching in his left pocket, waistband area could have been reaching for anything - ...

Pool Party Mayhem in McKinney

Here is an article. There are many more blowing up from the events that happened on Friday. http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/mckinney-texas-officer-leave-after-wild-pool-party-video-surfaces-n371281?cid=sm_fb Rather than quote from the article, I'll just tell you my take. I live [just a few] hous...

That underlined part is where they would be stuck. One of the communications described in 30.06 is verbal.
The problem, however, is that the penalty will only apply to signage that has been left up. It will not pose any penalty to anyone who gives verbal warning.

Re: How to report improper §30.06 signs

Another scenario we could likely see from the guilty cities is to remove signage, but still verbally give notice. While it may not happen to concealed carriers unless going through a metal detector, I would think it will happen often to everyone that chooses to open carry. I'm not really sure if th...

Re: How to report improper §30.06 signs

I forgot to mention that I would like someone to photograph the 30.06 sign at the Fort Worth Zoo at some point after Sept. 1st. I'll need them to fill out the affidavit, but I'll send the notice letter to the city of Fort Worth and I'll file the AG complaint when Fort Worth calls former Rep. Lon Bu...

Re: Cheaper than dirt in McKinney Shutting down?

The last thing I ever bought from CTD online was a set of 4 or 5 extra Korean-sourced GI 15 round magazines for my M1 carbine, and that was before the last 2 rounds of ammo scarcity. At first, like everyone else who sells ammo, they charged a higher price when ammo got scarce. But this last time, t...

Re: Campus Carry -- Where Are We Now?

I've been occupied all day and most of yesterday and missed what happened. I take it that campus carry passed? What are the opt-in/out provisions in the new law? University president compiles a list of buildings off limits and reason why. List is submitted to board of regents who can override with ...

Re: 2015 Session - What Was Sent to the Governor?

I believe the big one that did not pass was HB308. I think most of us would agree on this one. I do see SB11 as the logical stepping stone to expanding where we are allowed to carry. Expanding our rights should really be at the forefront for 2017, along with tweaking our gun laws already in place as...

Re: SB11 & HB910 This week....

The jokers at MomsDemand are saying that SB11 as passed was a victory for them "rlol" Apparently they are trying to smile at adversity, because they were blasting out emails, tweets and even running ads trying to kill this "terrible and dangerous Bill!" I guess lying is systemic at MDA. Chas. I loo...

Re: So what's the new signage going to be?

Back when CHL first passed, there was no 30.06 codicil, and so even if some business owner were anti-gun, he would not have been read up on being able to keep people out with a 30.06 sign. But, 30.06 signs have been in existence for a LONG time now, and the one thing that has kept more of them from...

Re: So what's the new signage going to be?

30.06 will apply specifically to concealed. The wording of 30.06 will be changed to reflect concealed carry. 30.07 will apply specifically to open. On Jan 1,2016, all current 30.06 signs will be invalid and will need to be replaced with the updated 30.06 that specifies concealed carry.
