Re: HB 972 -Not enough votes?

I'm the President of the SCC at UT. I honestly wish they could come up with one factual/historical/statistical reason to oppose this bill, rather than listen to all my professors cry "I'd be afraid to teach Anthropology here! Some Red Neck invalid would get upset and shoot me!" But in politics, I s...

Re: Should my mother carry Shot Shell for defense?

Since she is using a .380 or 9mm I will assume she is using semi-autos (although I know there are revolvers in 9mm). Shot shells lack penteteration, as mentioned above, but they will also not cycle a semi-auto, rendering it to a single-shot and necessitating her cycle the slide after every shot. No...

Should my mother carry Shot Shell for defense?

I am trying to convince my mother that it is a bad idea to carry shots shell. my reason is that I heard its used for small game and only effective in .45. And that it will be hard to prove that you were just trying to stop a threat versus kill when your before a grand jury. Her argument is that she ...

First off, thanks everyone for the polite "we already knew that, stop and research before posting". This is why this is my favorite forum, people are polite and courteous and have everyone's best interest at heart. Second, I will have to get the latest numbers and run them. Will do so tonight and po...

Texas CHL stats that prove CHL Holders are menaces.

Just kidding, about the menacing part that is. :tiphat: I went ahead and went onto the Texas DPS website and looked up, added, and divided the total amount of convictions committed by general public versus CHL holders. This went back as far as 1996, and ranges to 2011. DPS waits two years to release...

Re: BILL STATUS UPDATE: 4/23/13

I wish we could at least get a baby step with something like campus carry. Even if the schools have the option to opt out with 30.06. Just to pass something and have 1 less thing to fight in the future. UTSA will opt out but will have to go through the trouble to post over 100 30.06 signs. I just w...

I'd settle for this one because anything else is a long shot. At least they will have a hard time opting out and posting proper verbiage.baby steps.
