Re: CC on College Campus- Action Needed

I'm told that private schools are now exempt from the bill. Several private college presidents went to Austin to lobby for this exemption and target status.

Charming.

Re: CHL Carry on Colleges

To be ultimately pragmatic, legislation that only affects public / state schools and lets private schools continue to ban and fire, increases the risk at those latter schools. So in terms of risk management, why should students and staff at private schools support such discriminatory legislation and...

Re: CHL Carry on Colleges

Most colleges already have in their handbooks verbiage against firearms that would suffice as employee or student notice. So that point is moot. The issues are: 1. Will state schools have the right to post 30.06 signs? 2. Will private and state schools still have the right to dismiss students or sta...

Re: CHL Carry on Colleges

Will the suggested legislation differentiate between private and state campuses? If carry is allowed on private campuses doesn't that override the provisions for private places (as for example, stores) to post 30.06 signs? Private private purists would be upset about that (foolishly in my opinion). ...

Re: Taco Cabanna w/ NO 30.06 sign

I've notice that some signs are gone in San Antonio. Surprising as when I contacted them initially they were adamant about them. Anyway, plenty of Mexican food around me so that I still can be peevish towards them.

Re: Businesses should not be allowed to bar CHL!

You missed the point. First, the right to carry should be considered in the same domain as being a protected class. If specific legislation is needed then it should be done. Second about my conundrum. It is not about the exact amount of money. Rights are not determined by your level of tax contribut...

Re: Businesses should not be allowed to bar CHL!

When the issue of property rights comes up, folks rightly point out that discrimination is not allowed on grounds of race, etc. The RKBA is a similar right, IMHO. However, someone always says that the property owner should be allowed to discriminate. I pose this conundrum for that latter argument. I...

Re: S&W lightweight??????????

A 642 is a fine pocket gun. Yes, if you shoot a box or two, you get a sore hand for a bit. I recently shot an IDPA match in San Antonio with mine for grins. It is not a fast reloaded and the distance shots need some work but for close to moderate ranges, it is more than accurate.
