Re: ARs at Cabelas

I agree but I had points and a coupon that made it seem worthwhile. Live and learn.

ARs at Cabelas

Don't bother to go the Buda store for the guns advertised on sale at the Cabelas web page. They don't have them. In fact, they are sold out across the country but they still advertise them. A touch of a bait and switch. Rather annoying. Their excuse is that they the print the ads quite awhile ago. E...

Re: Shooting test

When I took the test once, a guy came up to me and said I shot TOO well - because I had a very tight center group. If I went to court for shooting a BG, then I would be asked why I didn't shoot his knees out. He knew this because he was a professional sniper. Sound advice - I have seen people ...

Re: Defense Awareness & Shooting Classes

http://www.krtraining.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - I agree - lots of geezers in class at times. Like me in my 60's. They offer a great set of classes from beginning to advanced. Very practical - no warrior, posturing bull.

Also, great guest instructors on special topics.

Re: In my experience, 30.06 signs are not that common

Medical buildings all the time. But - not compliant, 8.5 by 11 printed 30.06 prose on Red McCombs car dealerships. Interestingly, one dealer had a compliant sign awhile ago and then removed it for the noncompliant one. Asked them - the salesman said he didn't know. Probably, didn't know if I was pro...

Perry, Reliant Stadium, His Rally and Salon

http://www.salon.com/news/politics/war_room/2011/07/14/perry_gun_ban/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; FYI folks. Some other forums argue that Reliant has to post 30.06s for this to hold. However, if you personally ask - and are told no guns - then you are informed and that c...

Re: Action Needed: Employer Parking Lots

Just a new query - does anyone know if the Gov. intends to let the law coming into force without his signature? No big, three cheers for the RKBA signing? :thewave If so, rather wussy for the future president? Harkens back to GWB saying he would sign the AWB and winking that it wouldn't get to him, ...

Re: Parking lots and employee handbooks?

Obviously, I think the employer rules are complete bull. However, to play devil's advocate - if there is a workplace shooting that occurs because an employee breaks the rules, the company is in the clear (according to the lawyers). If you are an employee and you get hurt and argue that you were prev...

Re: Parking lots and employee handbooks?

But if you search legal journals, you will find several law review articles that suggest the company will be liable for actions of their employees with guns (carried legally or in the car) or customers allowed to carry guns. They even suggest that legislation limiting liability may not hold. So the ...

Bandera has run a night shoot after an afternoon match. Hasn't lately, though.

They are fun.

Re: HB681/SB321 Parking Lots Bill is on the Floor

EconDoc - you have that so right! Running for president makes you a cautious type. Political analyses suggest that candidates need big bucks from the business oriented GOP money types in suits and Benzmobiles while you need votes from the jeans and truck social conservatives - who like to carry guns...

Re: Action Needed: Employer Parking Lots

Just curious, has anyone from the TSRA or NRA actually had a word with Perry on the issue? And why he decided not fight for campus carry?

Or one of his minions?

Re: Texas Training schools

Just did a shotgun class with Tom Givens at KRtraining (Karl Rehn). Givens is an awesome instructor - when he comes to the area (http://www.krtraining.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) it's well worth it. So are Karl's offerings.

Re: Parking lots and employee handbooks?

Yeah, right. I started the thread to discuss the implementation of policy issue and not rehash the theoretical private property debate. Keeping on topic makes for good discussions. Simple concept. If you don't agree and want to replay the opposition to the parking lot bill based on being king of the...
