Re: Another case of Glock leg

She was playing with the gun when it accidentally discharged...
Once again a case of the media making guns go off on their own. That said, some doofus left a gun somewhere.

Re: Welcome sign at Academy in Benbrook

Wouldn't that include everyone legally able to own a firearm? Private property given permission? That's a question for corporate. However, I'd speculate that it's a generic sign that is at Academy in every state. The phrase "as law permits" would, in my opinion, be making reference to carrying in a...

Re: Shooting across the street from me

The picture is clearer today. This is from both the witnesses and based on a statement from the victim who is now in stable condition. It was not a gang hit. Black male in his 50s was walking down the street about 9:45 pm. The two black male assailants jumped him and demanded he hand over valuables....

Re: Shooting across the street from me

Any word on motive? Drug-deal gone bad? Armed robbery? Personal dispute? No word yet. Although, my not so speculative speculation, based on having lived here since 1998, is it was a gang hit. We've got Hispanic gangs, recently arrived African-American Gangs, an Asian gang, folks with the Aryan Brot...

Re: Shooting across the street from me

The guy who was shot is still alive. The police just called one of my neighbors who was a witness. He is in surgery.

Shooting across the street from me

So I'm minding my own business in my Old East Dallas apartment when I hear 4 clear gun shots, and then two more. I've heard them before but never this close. These were across the street. I called 911, looked out the window, and saw my neighbors at the corner. They signaled it was clear. I went out ...

Re: Gun 'mistakes' in Books, TV, and Movies - feel free to post your own

From an advertisement I saw for the movie 'Deadpool.' Apparently already cooking off rounds because this MP5 pistol is able to fire while the shooter's finger isn't on the trigger. A new feature. https://i.imgur.com/0umATjI.jpg In the same movie one of the bad guys runs out of ammunition in his aut...

Re: New Member asking for a general ltc holder's opinion

Violating a 30.07/07 sign would not likely be an additional penalty to the perpetrator unless the perp was an LTC holder himself as 30.06/07 apply only to LTC holders. Unlicensed folks are already not allowed to carry and such charges may be added to the crime but they won't be related to 30.06/07. ...

Re: Bore Snake Cleaning

I have a Panda mini washing machine and spin dryer I used for laundry before I got a full machine. I use that for cleaning it. I wrap it in a small unmatched sock. I clean mine after every use. Of course, I'm getting married in a few months (first marriage, I'm a late bloomer), and I fully expect I...

Re: Texas Republican elector won't vote Trump

Apparently this is not just one or two malcontents, but an organized effort to throw the country into a constitutional crisis: http://townhall.com/tipsheet/mattvespa/2016/12/06/hail-mary-faithless-electoral-college-group-likes-kasich-as-their-compromise-candidate-in-to-block-trump-n2255693 It's not...

Re: M1 Garands, misurp and import bans

I have a hypothesis that the Bush Sr. import ban is similar to the motorcycle tariffs of the 80s (which was at the behest of Harley). It has more to do with US manufacturers wanting protection from the law of supply and demand more than protecting the public. Again it's untested and I could be wrong...

I foresee a significant spike in aftermarket barrel sales about a month after this trigger goes to market.

Re: New Acquisitions

Nice! As B. says, that's a good looking SKS. It's hard to tell from a photo, but it looks like you might have gotten a really nice deal there. Thanks for sharing those. Jeff B. The SKS was technically used as it was acquired by the pawn shop from a customer. He bought it surplus in box back before ...
