I'm not interested in selling any at this point, especially the Marlin because it's just so fun to shoot, lightweight, and small.

Re: New Acquisitions

Hmmmm, I'm pretty fond of that black Marlin - never seen that before. I hadn't either. I walked out with it for $160. It's a .30-30. There must've been a year where a plastic stock was offered or it was put on by the previous owner. I did have to clean out the magazine tube as the follower was gett...

New Acquisitions

I've had a few new additions to the stable over the last two months. In order from bottom to top and order of acquisition: Norinco SKS with military contract markings, Marlin 336W, and a Smith and Wesson M&P 15 Sport II. I got them all at a pawn shop in my neighborhood that cuts me good deals due to...

Re: Building my First AR-15

I find it amazing that as soon as Trump is elected president suddenly everyone has AR15 lowers and parts! Simply amazing!!! Many FFLs were stocking up for some time expecting Hillary to win. If she would have we would be well into panic buying right now. I'm surprised that there is not more of a su...

Re: ID required with CHL/LTC for handgun purchases?

The merchant has two spots to fill in for ID. One is the valid basis for exemption, if presented, from a background check. The other is for identification. While the LTC is valid ID, many FFL's want the LTC only for exemption purposes and the DL for identification purposes. This is especially true w...

Re: Trump Wins!

One other perk, I don't have to worry about the price of guns, ammo, and accessories going through the roof!! :anamatedbanana :anamatedbanana I'll admit that I bought a few bulk boxes of 5.56 (when I don't need any as I don't own an AR--I'm vested in the AK platform) for the purpose of making a bit...

Re: What's Everybody Doing Today?

I taught my morning classes (New Testament Survey and College Success Seminar). I came home did a bit of patient charting for my hospice work as well as grading mid-terms. I'm now about to head back and teach my evening versions of those classes. I voted 2 weeks ago so that is not a thing for me tod...

Re: No More Smith & Wesson?

It's Smith and Wesson Holdings that is asking for the name change. I imagine that the firearms holding will still go by Smith and Wesson. This indicates a desire to dramatically diversify their offerings as a holding company. I work for a hospice company. However, it is owned by a holding company of...

Re: Know Your Target and What's Beyond

Coons scare me. I had one getting into my apartment years back. This was before I owned a gun. My place (church owned fourplex) is 102 years old with a crawl space and hollow walls. Critters get into those walls quite often. I found my trash had been messed up one night and there was some critter dr...

Re: Can Hillary Clinton win Texas? (Yes, Texas)

The large urban cities tend to go very blue as do the counties whose population they dominate. However, the outlying suburbs and rural areas go red. At this point, the cities don't upset the state balance. However, they do upset the local balance. The progressive out-of-state immigrants are attracte...

Re: Can Hillary Clinton win Texas? (Yes, Texas)

Texas has seen an enormous influx of progs moving in from all over, and they are bringing their liberal votes with them. I don't think the majority of liberals in Texas moved here, or are children of those that did. Texas raises it's own liberals through indoctrination in primary and secondary scho...

Re: ID required with CHL/LTC for handgun purchases?

Only the CHL is required. Most places I've bought firearms from have asked for LTC or DL. However, a pawn shop I do business with wants both. They don't do the background check with my LTC, but they still want my DL.

Thanks to this thread I picked this up today, it was too nice to pass up. I shouldn't have clicked on this thread ... :banghead: I didn't have black flip up sights so I stuck my diamondhead FDE on (if anyone wants to trade sights in DFW let me know  ). https://s22.postimg.org/7fatg7pzh/IMG...
