While "anger issues" are definitely a concern, as nitrogen said, the source/cause is important, and from what I can see seems at least potentially "solvable" with autistic kids, especially as they grow up. As he said, the anger seems to come from problems with communicating and comprehension, not me...

DCguncase.com (Parker vs DC)

I posted about this on the tail end of another thread, but thought more folks might see it here. I guess the Federal Law area is appropriate? The law firm that is representing the plaintiffs who sued to overturn the DC gun ban has put up a website dedicated to the case. It contains all the court fil...

Website on the DC/Parker/Heller 2A case

The law firm supporting the plaintiffs in Parker vs DC (which I think is called DC vs Heller now that it is in the Supreme Court arena) has established a website here:

http://dcguncase.com/blog/

I believe the have all the legal papers posted there, as well as commentary about the case.

OK, my dream gunstore, *** Ideally, it would be co-located with a range that has a wide selection of rental guns, so you could try stuff out - Ditto on polite friendly knowledgable but not overbearing staff, of course - Wide selection of firearms is always good! - Ditto on ammo - I have been surpris...

As to Big Calhoun's original question -- I suspect that the DA is going to a Grand Jury as a butt-covering maneuver. Overall, I believe Mr. Logg (if that's the homeowner's name) was justified, but as others have pointed out in another thread, firing warning shots and firing through a door can provid...

Looking up the FOPA as USMC-COL recommends is of course a great starting place. Some years back I drove across the US several times PCS'ing from one base to another. To the extent I was able to research the law then (some of these trips were pre-internet!) as long as I had the firearms secured in a ...

I would recommend that when you are executing any administrative procedure with your gun, you focus on that procedure, and only that procedure, until you are completely finished and the gun is either holstered or secured. I have boo-booed a couple times when I distracted myself somehow --once I fail...

As I understand the current law, whether "the locals decide" or the "commissioner's court has ruled" a building is off limits to CHL is legally irrelevant -- it's the state law that decides these things. The one exception I see to this is that state law allows local governments can ban CHL holders f...

Assuming "HCAD" is a city/county/state owned or leased building, I think you are correct too. Mr. Cotton is collecting examples of these in the following thread, so perhaps you should post this there also, so he has a single list to work with. http://www.texasshooting.com/TexasCHL_Forum/viewtopic.ph...

I have used the Smartcarry for a revolver, and a Fobus OWB (some kind of synthetic), a leather holster, and currently a kydex CompTac C.T.A.C IWB holster for my FN Hi Power. My thoughts: The Smartcarry was clever, but in the way of, um, things. Didn't hurt the finish of the gun, but was not compatib...

Interesting suggestion. My CHL instructor was a San Antonio policemen for a number of years, and is now a DA's investigator. When we get our pictures taken in his class, he exhorts us to smile. He said, roughly (I am paraphrasing from classes three and seven years ago, so this not an exact quote), "...

My gunshow experience: I bought my first 9mm Hi Power, a very slightly used (as in no marks on it at all) FN HP-SFS, at the Saxet show in San Antonio. I paid $460 out the door (or is it off the table?). I think this was an excellent deal. At another Saxet show I bought a Marlin Glenfield .30-30 for ...

+1 on distraction being a (the?) key issue. Also +1 on loading and unloading only when absolutely necessary. If you can figure out how to carry your 1911 instead of switching to another gun every day, it'll help. My $.02 and Recommendations: 1. Focus totally on what you are doing at the time when ad...

Piney, I found this link helpful in deciphering fire AND burglary resistance ratings: http://www.klsecurity.com/ul_fire_rating.htm It's important to note that fire safe ratings and burglary resistance ratings are different, and not every safe (maybe not even most safes) achieve protection against bo...
