Re: Opinion on gunsmith situation

Just from your description yeah I wouldn’t have accepted it nor paid. I would have told them to call me when they had a new unmolested slide as replacement for their incompetence. Email me pictures if you’d like and I’ll post them for you. I’m sure others would like to see the mess you’re describing...

Re: DFW Way Out West Breakfast

The DFW Way Out West Breakfast at Manny's Cafe in Hudson Oaks is this coming Saturday at 8:00. Who else is planning to attend? You may want to make sure Manny’s is open we had to go to another place last my month. I can’t remember the name of the restaurant but it’s in a new shopping center east of...

Re: The independant nation of CHAZ

MrGunsngear stated "guess there's no background checks for AR15's in CHAZ?" You would think he would know that person to person firearm transfers don't require background checks...yet. It will be required if the lefty gun controllers get their way. DISCLAIMER: I'm talking about federal requirements...

Thank you for your interest Chemist45 but the remaining items are SPF. If the deal falls through you’re next in line.

Re: Grandkids .22 rifle recommendation

I grew up on a Winchester Model 67a single shot .22. Now my 7 y/o daughter is doing the same. Same concept as the cricket just retro. We’re I looking to buy new I’d look at the CZ 455 or 457 Scout. Shorter barrel/LOP, threaded for a suppressor (if you have one), good iron sights and you can use a CZ...

Re: Anyone personally know of an open range?

Colion Noir recently revealed on Youtube that he shoots at Texas Defensive Shooting Academy outside of Ferris. Because of the video, I assume the range is open. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8d0epgRh8fo I watch his stuff sometimes. Great to know since Ferris isn't far from me. :tiphat: SA-TX Just...

Re: TX: Dallas reman ammo company Stand 1 Armory reopens after 3 years

Ironic that they open back up just as ammo prices have gone up and availability has plummeted. I'm pretty sure it's coincidental. Their prices are high at the moment .... for them .... but still not as high as some other vendors in this climate. They could charge more than they are charging and get...

Re: Self-Defense / Tactical Pens

I had a cheap no-name tactical pen that I was given for free. Flew with it many times without issue till one day I entered DFW through Terminal D and a fancy automated machine x-rayed it and kicked it out. TSA claimed it was a kubotan and confiscated it. Let the Zebra 701 through. Funny as the Zebra...

Looking for Operations leadership job in Fort Worth, San Antonio, or Hill Country area

Laid off back in February, "no problem, great economy, I'll find something in no time." Then Corona Virus hit, crap. Looking for an operations job for someone with 12+ years of team/terminal leadership experience. Pretty open to most possibilities as I was in the railroad industry but that's kind of...

Re: IWB holsters and sweat - any suggestions?

I’ve yet to find anything that protects the gun from perspiration, but I have found some that mitigate it more than others. My favorite is the Stealthgear Ventcore, the material is breathable such that you don’t get as much built up heat like you do with a leather holster. Hopefully resulting in les...

Somebody at Newington ought to offer a sweet relocation deal to some of the master smiths.
That’s what I’m hoping, maybe a handful will take the offer.

Re: Sig Sauer Germany - bankrupt

Sig Germany has also been in hot water with the German government in recent years over arms sales to Columbia and (supposedly) Iran. Sadly the Sig Germany Master Shop will go by the wayside with this. Some excellent P210 and other finely tuned pistols will no longer be available. That said the Swiss...

Do you remember your very first time carrying after receiving your plastic?

No idea why I suddenly took a trip down memory lane this morning, but here goes. Spring of 2005, I was finishing up my undergrad degree at St. Mary's University in San Antonio. I'd been shooting for a year or two but finally decided to get my CHL right after the new year. Took the class at Bullet Tr...
