Re: Jury duty today- Texas CHL Forum blocked

It is interesting the differences in response between this post and the Walmart blocking this site I posted a day ago. Has public WiFi become that much worse for your phone in 4 years. I think the difference is that Wal Mart is blocking something on THEIR Wifi, and in this case the government is bl...

Re: Jury duty today- Texas CHL Forum blocked

Moral of the story - avoid jury duty? *Edit* Don't they issue warrants if you "avoid" it? :smash: During voir dire just tell them you know he/she is guilty (just look at his/her eyes) and should get the death penalty. :evil2: Tried that once in a juvenile misdemeanor trial. Judge laughed and said, ...

Re: Loaded magazine went for a wash!

I would shoot them, just to better understand the limits of that particular ammo (since it was in a mag in your pocket, I'm assuming this is carry ammo). For my carry guns, I like to at least once shoot them, without cleaning, to the point where I experience failures. This is kind of the same idea. ...

Re: Houston Man playing with gun shoots himself

“At some point, he racked the gun, not realizing he had placed a round in the chamber, according to police. He removed the magazine, put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger, shooting himself.” I’m torn between just thinking “stupid hurts”, and thinking what a shame it is that no one taught t...

Re: ME: Man shot and killed by his own front door booby trap

Attorney Andrew Branca discusses this incident: https://lawofselfdefense.com/blog/ ... Law of Self Defense Post of the Day, which involves the use of booby traps in defense of property ... Paywalled after 3 days. Yes, not allowed by law. Does not distinguish between a burglar and a fireman. Deadly ...

Re: ME: Man shot and killed by his own front door booby trap

Legal or not, I would never set these up for precisely this reason. I have an alarm on the door to the room where I keep my gun safes that is separate from my home alarm system (maybe I am paranoid?), and I can't count the number of times I have set that alarm off because I forgot to disarm it.

Re: SCOTUS: to rule on gun rights

This "old" law is akin to saying that you can exercise your first amendment rights, but only in your home. And travelling from your home to any other place with anything that has writing or other communication is strictly forbidden. So they changed the law and said, effectively, you can travel with ...

Re: SCOTUS: to rule on gun rights

Looks like at least one of the justices may think it is a moot point. https://dailycaller.com/2019/12/02/supreme-court-nyc-gun-argument/ That's Ginsberg. She stopped being a real justice a long time ago, if she ever was one. She is an activist who happens to wear the robe of a SC justice. Trump wil...

Mass shooter stopped

An armed school resource officer shot an armed student before he could kill anyone else. I'm really curious to see how much airtime this will get on CNN. My guess is precisely zero.

Re: Joe Biden

How in the heck is the demand for AR's not spiking? Surely people must realize there is a realistic chance that Biden or one of the even crazier Dems might get elected, and yet you can still buy a brand new Ruger AR 556 for $479 on Buds. This is nuts. Heck, even my wife, who is a Dem, asked me why I...

Re: Any bank recommendations?

I have accounts at Bank of Texas, Wells Fargo, and Chase, and I've open carried in all of them without issue. I prefer local banks, but it is good to have an account with a national bank just in case you run into issues while travelling.

Re: This is How Custer Must Have Felt

Have you tried artillery? T.O.T? Time On Target. My favorite mission, both from the Forward Observer's point of view and from the Fire Direction Center's. Most fun you can have with your boots on. This reminds me of a funny story from my FDC days. We were all sitting in the track waiting, and bored...

Re: Why Can't We Return To How Peaceful The World Was Before Guns?

Eliminating the tools with which people hurt each other is not going to solve the problem. You need to eliminate hate to do that. And good luck with that. Humans are intelligent creatures. We can find / make tools to do whatever we want to do. I always laugh when I see signs that say "no weapons all...

Re: Traveling to AR, TN and KY

In addition to the relevant laws, you might also want to spend some time on the respective states CCW forums, especially if you are in the "don't want to take a ride" camp. That's how I found out that Mississippi's AG has stated an intent to enforce all signs, no matter how they are written, despite...
