Re: Why two signs?

If I owned a retail business, I would be much more likely to have a problem with CC than with OC. I believe this was the prevailing view back when everyone carried. It was considered a bit "sneaky" and potentially nefarious to conceal your firearm. I know that if I am in an altercation with someone ...

Re: Ignoring 30.06 Sign For How Long

Do not break the law, and please don't push the envelope with this. You will do yourself and other chl'ers great disservice. :iagree: If driving to this grocery store, make sure you come to a complete stop at all stop signs, BEHIND THE LINE!! Make sure you set the cruise control to 5 under the post...

We reached that point a long time ago. The pen is mightier than the sword.

Re: walmart asking for chl

So the police should pull every car over every day to make sure you have a drivers license? It just makes it look like someone who is open carrying is automatically doing something illegal. Did I say anywhere that I have some right to be in their store? It was ment as a conversation starter. Its no...

Re: Almost went to jail!!!

Without knowing better, I would have assumed that police would need express authority to issue a valid criminal trespass warning (the owner asking the officer to please issue the warning), and not just apparent authority. Lots of places either place signs that give blanket (express) authority or ha...

Re: Almost went to jail!!!

I noticed this as well. "Apparent Authority" is a legal concept. Among other things, it generally means that the principal (owner in this case) is bound by the promises and is liable for the actions of the person who they allowed to possess apparent authority (the agent). I would be highly skeptica...

Re: Obama acting on executive action

Does anyone else think we're kind of expressing a cognitive dissonance? We have insisted for years that 'guns don't kill people, people do',(which I firmly believe) and yet when Obama, (sorry, Satan) suggests checking out the people, not the guns, we get our panties in a wad. Is there anything that...

Re: Question on carrying on school premises

This is absurd since most schools in my area prohibit parents from dropping their kids off on the street / sidewalk in front of the school. They punish the kids, not the parents, but still prohibited. How do they propose that a parent drop their kid off if the parent can't drive to the designated dr...

Re: You have to become a FFL?

I will be interested to see how they define "in the business" of selling firearms. There is already a definition for purposes of filing taxes using schedule C. Are they going to use that one (I think it's showing a profit for 2 out of the last 3 years or some such)? Or maybe the test will be that yo...
