Re: ISIS murders two American bicycle tourists in Tajikistan

Because he had no mortgage weighing him down, his miniature house meant that he could take unpaid leave from his government job and travel the globe. “ At HUD at the end of each year, you could ask for a higher salary or more vacation ,” said Ms. Ozery. “He always chose more vacation.” In a post ab...

Re: "The Bleeding Edge" is about medical implants

I've worked a ~$30 million device study (those are the costs I was aware of), that went 8 years beyond the anticipated closure date because they could not prove statistically superior efficacy. For some participants, it was a genuine, "Silver Bullet," with dramatic impact and improvement. For others...

Re: "The Bleeding Edge" is about medical implants

I have(watched it), for the obvious reasons. There are some honest and reasonable criticisms, painfully overshadowed, however, by ANTIFA rhetoric. About every 5 years, I pay ~$2000 for a new insulin pump, out-of-pocket. I work, full-time, pay my taxes and insurance. I did not choose my situation, or...

Re: "The Bleeding Edge" is about medical implants

As far as FDA approval of medical devices, I actually went through that process with the FDA and hold several 510(K) forms for devices that I manufactured for use in the operating room. All part of a company that I previously owned. The process is fairly difficult but not impossible although it can...

Re: TX: Houston Methodist Doctor murdered by man on bike

20 years is generally too long to wait to act on that type of ideation, without some other external stress. Was he diagnosed with cancer? Final remaining family member died, or cut off contact? Did he (Pappas) have some new catastrophic financial or ego-status loss? The, "he was always such a nice p...

Re: "The Bleeding Edge" is about medical implants

Having worked in clinical research for just under 15 years: 1) We cheered the gunshop owner who ran off Borat and did not participate in his, "comic-umentary." Why? Because we can all forsee the hatchet-job, in the making. Once you agree to be filmed, you rarely retain the right to approve the relea...

Re: Century C93 Sporter

We recently purchased ALL of Century's remaining inventory of surplus C93 Sporters! The receivers are stamped Century Arms C93 Sporter, but PTR-91 is manufacturing the barrels and other parts for these exclusive builds. PTR will also powder coat, assemble, and warrant these C93s. gun.png Based on t...

Re: Church Security Team help!!

I understand the need but what does the church's insurance say about setting up security forces? I see tremendous liability problems in these situations once it is an organized church sponsored security force. I am not against it but I wonder about the legal issues and whether an attorney has been ...

Re: FL:Stand your ground law under fire for parking space dispute murder

Per multiple reports, Mr. Drejka is 47. I'm 46. While it definitely isn't 26, it is hardly "older," in context. I'm also insulin-dependent, which factors into my escalation of force model, and perhaps Mr. Drejka is in a similar situation. We shall see.

Re: FL:Stand your ground law under fire for parking space dispute murder

Couple of other quick observations, from the vid. It essentially opens, at sec 1 with Drejka's head bobbed emphatically, followed at 3-5 with a mid-body, downward point in addition to head bob, followed by emphatic, single-nods at 10, 13 and 16 seconds. He is unaware of Mcglockton until 16 seconds, ...

Feel better now?
;-) No feelings on it one way or another, just an assessment of the circumstances available for review in a use-of-force incident.

Re: FL:Stand your ground law under fire for parking space dispute murder

The video makes it pretty obvious what happened. The video is certainly helpful but there is quite a bit we as "arm-chair jurors" do not know. 1) What was said between the shooter and the girlfriend? 2) What was said between the shooter and the boyfriend? 3) How did it feel to get thrown to the hot...

Re: What a joke we've become

We really suck as a community of 2A and CHL/LTC brethren. We are a house divided, in the saddest sense. I didn't particularly "like" the shoot, but we still don't have the relevant facts to judge him . I see a huge gap in what's legal vs what we think is good or right... For every one of you high h...
