Re: Florida Sheriff: ‘If You Need to Shoot Somebody, Shoot ’em a Lot’

Wish I was on the jury for the Oklahoma pharmacy case. I was living in OKC when it happened. Ersland went full Walter Mitty. Ignorant and image-driven weapons selection, no training, false "war hero" personna alluded to before the shooting and expanded upon afterwards. After retaining his attorney,...

Re: Strippers take Boston officer's service weapon

Police added the unnamed officer said he broke up a fight between the women and another man at a Pawtucket hotel and that’s when they went to his room.
Hmmm... Maybe shook down the other man, and sought some appreciation?

Re: backpacks or backpack inserts

I think this may be a false image create by the media. The current bias in the media reporting is targeting AR type rifles and trying to make it look like they are used for everything illegal that they can be. The latest academic study I saw says that a pistol was the most powerful weapon used in a...

Re: backpacks or backpack inserts

What would be a good quality bullet-proof backpack or backpack insert? I found this, and it claims to resist even rifle rounds. Are there others? https://www.shotstop.net/shop-ballisticboard/ballisticboard-backpack-insert-rifle-protection-ra I'm also concerned about what would be too heavy for a ch...

Re: 'You're gonna kill me!': Dallas police body cam footage reveals the final minutes of Tony Timpa's life

Versed won't make you stop breathing. Schizophrenia won't directly kill you. My guess is that this guy had a real medical emergency and couldn't express that to the first responders due to his mental illness. The sad part is that we treat these people like responsible adults rather than children wh...

Re: 'You're gonna kill me!': Dallas police body cam footage reveals the final minutes of Tony Timpa's life

However, the medical responders appear to take Timpa’s blood pressure while he is still conscious, about five minutes before administering Versed , a powerful sedative. By the time the paramedic gives Timpa the sedative, officers already are questioning if Timpa is awake . If you are administering ...

Re: SC: Bodycam of LEO shooting homeowner through front door.

One important element is missing from the story: Did the dispatcher tell the deputy the alarm was a medical alert or was the call just dispatched as "an alarm?" The wording of the dispatch will make a big difference in how the officer approaches, what he is prepared to see, and how he is primed to ...

Re: Italy: 2 San Fransisco teens allegedly stab an Italian Police Officer to death in Rome

Elder affects the Thug Life appearance, Hjorth looks to be the clean-cut tag-along, or the good-face frontman. It will be interesting to see, if it comes out, whether the 19yo has any drug/criminal history, or if the 18 yo does in his short time of legal adulthood. They don't appear to be men of ups...

A man died in a car leaving the scene, so his buddies just dumped his body in the middle of road and continued on.
Practical matters, bro. They drop a big load and loose the tide when they expire. Gotta keep the ride fresh.

Re: The Much-Maligned, Under-powered 30 U.S. Carbine

Having owned (and worked on) an Iver Johnson .30 carbine: It is a decent carbine, ballisticly very similar to the .357. It is VERY magazine-sensitive, and it can be challenging to have a stock of serviceable mags. If the mags run, generally ammo doesn't make much difference, IF the gas system isn't ...

Re: How to Carry Cell Phone

As my life evolves and what I have to do/carry I am finding it harder to find a good way to carry my cell phone. I have, for years, carried in my left front shirt pocket. Now, as my work has changed, I am in positions that allow my phone to fall out of my pocket and most pockets aren't deep enough ...

Re: Fierce Defender IWB Sidecar Holster

It's hard to say with the pre-curved/pre-angled combo holsters. For really about the same $, you could get the RCS Morrigan and a Phlster mag pouch. OTOH, if you have a heat gun, you can make adjustments to the Sidecar, to a slight degree, if you needed to. Or, it may fit you like a glove... :tiphat:
