Re: Local Judge sues shooting range, earplug manufacturer

A case like this was brought a few years ago against an indoor range in League City. If you scroll to the portion of this page stamped 05/10/13--11:33, you can see that the shooting range prevailed in the litigation.

Re: CARRY QUESTION

... IANAL but i'd say just the fence because that's where it's located. This is what I had been assuming, but you know what they say about the word "assume". I thought I'd ask here because easements were being discussed. Many easements include pipelines transporting highly flammable product. I have...

... I doubt if the easement or utility right of way is posted 30.06/07 anyway. ... Attached is an Imgur link to a blurry pic of an easement in the Clear Lake area. The bright white object just left of photo center is a pipeline access point (where the pipeline segment extends above ground, has valv...

Re: UK outlaws home delivery of knives purchased online

Also along the lines of UK silliness... I have a paying subscription to the English publication called The Economist. It contains no shortage of liberally-slanted condemnation-oriented opinion pieces on America's "gun culture". And of course handguns are largely banned in Britain. Simultaneously as ...

Re: RVing

Hi, Venus. The answer to your question depends in part on how much money you want to spend. My rig has a simple safe built into it in a location I won't mention publicly but if you email me (interstate.blog gmail) I can describe it to you directly. There are other permanently-installed safe options,...

Google MTECH USA MT-673 Fixed Stainless Steel Blade. A neck knife for about 8 bucks - can't beat it.

Curious... steal it how? By towing it? Does it not have a key fob chip that will not allow the engine to be started even if the wiring is defeated?

Re: Suburban driveway carjacking (Humble area)

I have noticed criminals have adapted to LTC. More and more often they are in groups. Whether it be individuals or businesses. This is a very good point, and it is something I've thought about at length within the context of my camper van. Recent owner experience (not mine - others) has shown us th...

Suburban driveway carjacking (Humble area)

This security video is just now making the rounds on social media - not sure why, given that it happened a few months ago. It certainly argues in favor of keeping cars inside garages.

Re: Self defense fixed blade

Points awarded for pics that specifically show what this OP asked for - a horizontal mount. A knife and one or more sheaths nesting on a tarp with other unrelated equipment or in a photogenic bed of woodland twigs and leaves does not give a good feel for how it is actually worn and accessed. I find ...

Re: TX: Large Mixed Breed family dog fatally kills 4 year old

These kinds of issues degenerate quickly when subjected to oversimplification. Yes, it is the parents' responsibility to keep control of their child. In the first realm, that task is 100% on them. But we don't live in a perfect world. Anyone with a disordered child knows that some of them can become...

Re: Beyond the One Percent: How do we get more people to attend training beyond the state minimum?

Could you please expound on what you mean by a 'closed institution'? If it's something like PoliceOne.com, where some content is public and some requires vetting for access, I can understand why some of it is kept close hold (specific LEO protocols for responding to XYZ incidents). However, I'd thi...

Quote from that coverage: "Even if the dog doesn't show any outward signs of aggression, sometimes they can be unpredictable. So, it's best to always be vigilant when you're dealing with a small child and a dog like that." They'd be doing the public a favor if they offered the following PSA for bala...

Re: Beyond the One Percent: How do we get more people to attend training beyond the state minimum?

I'm continuing to research this issue a little bit at a time, typically in the time allotted to my morning tea. One of the phenomena I am encountering is closed institutions. In other words, even if the 99% of untrained newbies wanted to get into certain places and increase their training, they cann...
