Re: vehicle search by employer??

I guess I've been sheltered from crazy corporate policies thus far... but since I'm just beginning a job search, I hope my fortune continues. At minimum, I'd be looking for an alternate lot or street parking.

vehicle search by employer??

Since this comes up with some regularity, and I didn't want to hijack another thread... When an employer has a no weapons policy, there seems to be a general concern that vehicles will be searched in the parking lot and then the person fired. Here is my question- has anyone actually had a vehicle se...

Re: Used guns seem to cost almost like new ones.Comments?

A lightly used and well cared for firearm is usually as good as new so there shouldn't be a big hit on them unless it's a model that just has real low demand. For that matter, some are better than new. Finicky models that have had work done or been through break in can fetch better than new prices. ...

Re: CHL Attorney

Interestingly this is something they always talk about in the class and renewal class and I also see it on all the forums... but I rarely ever see a recommendation for an Attorney. I would also like to know of a good Attorney for CHL related possibilities in Central Tx ( anywhere from Austin to Waco...

Re: Taurus Model 605

I have the 651 in titanium... it's surprisingly accurate and controllable. I wouldn't sell it for twice what I paid for it. ;-)

Re: Opinions on Kimber .22LR top end for 1911

I also have a Kimber .22 top end. They suggested CCI ammo with it so that's what I run. It's more expensive than other .22 ammo, but so much cheaper than .45 that I don't mind buying the "premium" stuff. Runs great and is very accurate. I've only had 2 ftf but not until I was at 300-350 rounds in a ...

Re: In Border States, BATFE Asks: "May We See Your Guns?"

the agents said they were asking because the members had bought types of guns that are frequently recovered in Mexico. I would tell them when the do actually recover a gun registered to me, that wasn't reported stolen, in Mexico- come back and ask at that time. What types of guns are frequently rec...

Re: Another Gun Cleaning Incident

I think a lot of these 'cleaning' incidents are actually folks just wiping the outside of the gun down with a cloth and maybe a little oil. As they move the gun around wiping it, they end up getting their finger on the trigger or cloth caught in the trigger and BANG! Although your explanation makes...

Re: CHL not recognized by bank as valid ID?

Considering that I've used a Sam's card and my check card as a picture ID before, that's ridiculous, just because your driver's license is a few days expired, doesn't change your identity. You don't need a license to bank, just drive. As much of a pain as it would be, I would change banks when you r...

Is it a [solid] modified barrel or is it threaded for choke tubes with a mod choke installed?

Thanks,

Re: Holster skins

Shark and elephant are way more durable (according the to the makers I have asked) and look good. I like alligator for looks but it's really expensive and I have no idea how it compares to the above.

I wish my wife would want me to buy some new custom leather!

Re: prevent the lint?

I believe that if you are getting a lint build up on a carry weapon... (one that you will trust your life to) you need to either: clean it more often or shoot it and clean it more often. (preferably the latter)

Re: Parking Versus Standing

There's probably a technicality there but I think I'd fight it just out of principal. Furthermore, if he was picking up his child from school in his cruiser, he was (or should have been) off duty... and if he wasn't, I'd like a few tax dollars refunded.
