Re: DFW North/NorthEast Quadrant Breakfast
Yep, good visiting a bit with Mr. Surprise today. ' Might try to catch you guys for that breakfast one of these days. Lots of Saturdays tho are scheduled out with classes or get-aways to the hunting lease near Ballinger. FWIW, lots of experience here with the CCI snake shot. Some semis cycle fine wi...

Best Buy store oopsie
Semi-disabled USMC member was at the range earlier this week, wearing a Glock 19 and extra mags in a black belly band. He is a rather big guy and the oversized t-shirt he was wearing had a rather obvious odd shaped protrusion at around 2:00, somewhat above his waistline. I made the snarky remark tha...

Chemist - Student's story, not mine. He did say he spoke with the man briefly on the way out and informed him that he would have been glad to let his Mom sit down if the approach had been a little more civil.

Not-so-non-violent dispute resolution
65yo short guy with LTC sat in for a "voluntary refresher" in my last LTC class. He wanted to tell the following story during class, but time was short and I had him save it to tell me later. He said he was eating solo at a table for two in a very busy restaurant in Carrollton when a very large and ...

Re: Nervous about my proficiency test next week
You may want to find a range where you can practice the course of fire (details on FAQ page at http://www.dentoncountysports.com) on the B-27 target. The LCPs are not necessarily the best choice for testing due to the short barrel (and lousy sights and trigger on the LCP I). It is typically not all ...

Rowlett 17 year old arrested with semi auto rifle
And who thinks a law requiring age of 21 to purchase would have deterred this 17 year old?

Re: I finally came over to the dark side.......
I've had a WASR for a long time, but it's pretty much an ugly safe queen. From prone and using a stump for a rest, I've actually got 3" groups with it at 100 yards with nothing but the open sights. You may want to do some reliability testing with the PMAGs. I had to return some mags so many years ag...

Re: Another armed teacher poll
Particularly since that mouthy, gun-grabbing LEO honcho at Parkland has now confirmed that HIS DEPUTY FAILED to go in after the shooter, that is all the MORE reason for trained, voluntary members of school staffs to have a "last line of defense" opportunity to protect themselves and the kids.

Looks like Florida law would need some tweaking also for similar.

Re: On-line Student Proficiency
Chas says: "As a practical matter, if online courses are to be offered, DPS should be doing it." Yep. Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept. did it many years ago for a hunter education course option, with followup "completion class" required at instructors' locations. And the online course portion provided...

Re: On-line Student Proficiency
As just posted to web site, this is how I plan to deal with it. If and when ...... "Private (minimum 5 hour) LTC classes are available for 1 - 4 people at $60 per hour on weekdays or $80 per hour on weekends (if available). The same hourly rates - with a 2 hour minimum - are applicable for anyone wh...
