Re: I finally came over to the dark side.......

I've had a WASR for a long time, but it's pretty much an ugly safe queen. From prone and using a stump for a rest, I've actually got 3" groups with it at 100 yards with nothing but the open sights. You may want to do some reliability testing with the PMAGs. I had to return some mags so many years ag...

Re: Another armed teacher poll

Particularly since that mouthy, gun-grabbing LEO honcho at Parkland has now confirmed that HIS DEPUTY FAILED to go in after the shooter, that is all the MORE reason for trained, voluntary members of school staffs to have a "last line of defense" opportunity to protect themselves and the kids.

Looks like Florida law would need some tweaking also for similar.

Re: On-line Student Proficiency

Chas says: "As a practical matter, if online courses are to be offered, DPS should be doing it." Yep. Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept. did it many years ago for a hunter education course option, with followup "completion class" required at instructors' locations. And the online course portion provided...

Re: On-line Student Proficiency

As just posted to web site, this is how I plan to deal with it. If and when ...... "Private (minimum 5 hour) LTC classes are available for 1 - 4 people at $60 per hour on weekdays or $80 per hour on weekends (if available). The same hourly rates - with a 2 hour minimum - are applicable for anyone wh...

Re: good contact in Flower Mound

I had a similarly good experience with FloMo cop just off of Morris Road a few years back. "Failure to indicate turn" - when I was the only one on the road around midnight, heading home from a weeknight class. When he asked if I was carrying, "Yes sir, actually 2 of them. One on right hip and one on...

Re: Double-stack 9mm with the thinnest grip

Unsure if such has changed, but I read somewhere years ago that the M&P 9 with the smallest backstrap installed had the shortest trigger reach of any double stack pistol in the industry. I have had the subcompact (with pinkie extension) as a training gun for just over 8 years now. It has been rode h...

Re: Plastic surgeon's answer

Yep, too much Texas sunshine for many of us. This doctor is on Preston, just north of LBJ. I was evidently not one his moat commen clients. Waiting room consisted mostly Highland Park women, around 55 trying to look 25. I sincerely doubt he talks to them like that.

Plastic surgeon's answer

During final check up today after having some skin cancer removed back in November, I asked the plastic surgeon if he used any sort of medical Miracle Grow to get the skin taken from my shoulder to bond so well to my ear. He stuck out his tongue, wiped it with his middle finger, showed it to me brie...

Re: School teacher with LTC

Non-lawyer here with typical lawyer answer: "It depends". ;-) In my view, the most common use of "right of way" involves land adjacent to a public road, where an adjacent landowner would have little or no say. If an "easement", then maybe. A link for your review. https://info.courthousedirect.com/bl...

Re: 10/22 Optics Recommendations

+1 on the tech sights. I have had good luck with a "Sweet 22" scope from Academy. Some good features for a $60 scope. It has been rode very hard and put up wet thru dozens of hunter ed classes and it still functions fine. With any of em tho, be prepared to possibly buy a semi-pricey "extended" rail ...

Re: AR15 Coyote accessories suggestions

FWIW, I have been quite pleased with products like the one in the link below. After it being on my want list for a couple of years, I paid around $150 for the first one at a gun show. Then found virtually the same product online later for less than half that $. Green flashlight capability all the wa...
