Re: Finally!!!!!!!!! The Forum is back.

Great! Thanks for all the work. I don't post much these days, but do check in and read often. With the TX Legislature kicking off, I WAS worried.

Re: Instructor range fee for Online students

"My understanding is that I need to sign their LTC-101 (range portion) and then submit a regular LTC-8 with the range portion marked as passing."

Yep. Sign off now required 2 places. FWIW, I typically add a note "online class by others".

Re: If you started over carrying a firearm

"If the P365 had come out back when I first started carrying I would have likely been drawn to it but in hindsight I wish I had gotten the G19 just for the benefit of additional capacity."

FWIW, there are factory 15 round mags available for the 365. I carry a 12 rounder in mine with the 15 rounders ...

Re: BYRNA non lethal handgun

I ordered ours in yellow. And yes, it is somewhat bulky. Advertised as "about the same size as a Glock 19", but is actually a little larger - especially in width. A retired cop looked at it and also preferred the color yellow. Said it would definitely get the attention of any of the creatures who ...

Re: BYRNA non lethal handgun

The Wife instructed me to order one after she saw mentioned on Hannity a several months ago. I got an e-mail from the CEO a day or two later thanking me for the order - but ..... they had just received over 13,000 new orders and that I would not be receiving the unit until late August. They did ...

Re: Dove bag/vest

I have moved away from a vest for dove hunting, especially in warm weather. Have found a 5 gallon camo bucket much more useful. It is used to carry in boxes of shells, disassembled mojo, bottled water, etc. Then used during the (mostly lawn chair sit-down) hunt for empty hulls and to keep fire ants ...

Re: Has anyone took the time to make a kit or Glock look alike?

I had a young man who had put a "G17" together and attempted to take LTC shooting test with it. Way to many malfs early to continue. I loaned him a Springfield XD9M - that went bang every time. ;-)

Re: Instructor range fee for Online students

"I don't mind doing the online folks, but they always have so many questions. Kind of feel bad for them."

Yep, I've had several like that, ones that our web site "screening process" did not make go elsewhere. Recent one was a pretty (other than the nose ring) younger gal, fearful of an "ex". She ...

Re: Instructor range fee for Online students

Ya, I've had more than a few callers think all they need to do is show up and have me watch them shoot. I tired of arguing with 'em a long time ago and have this conclusion for the option on our web site: "In summary, the cost for the RANGE PORTION of the "hybrid" (online elsewhere + shooting at ...

Current fingerprinting logjam in DFW

I had a gentleman in ANOTHER private class last night. He was having a very difficult time finding ANYWHERE in the Metroplex that he could get an electronic fingerprinting appointment. His phone kept telling him "zero appointments available". It appeared that he may have to drive 80+ miles to Graham ...
