Trespass?

I'm in the middle of a discussion on a newsgroup and my research has not turned up anything yet that provides a definite answer so I thought I turn to the accumulated knowledge and wisdom (cough, cough) found here. Let's say you have a house on an unfenced acre of property in a neighborhood. Behind ...

Re: DPS Processing Times

Or it could just be the way I designed the form to make it easy to distinguish the form from the submitted information. Look at the first post in this thread. Chas. But that makes sense. All caps in an email reply, consistently, makes me think they're cutting and pasting from another email or...

Re: DPS Processing Times

It's been eight working days since my packet was received in Austin (according to USPS) and nothing had shown up on-line so I emailed them asking about the normal delay. The email I received back said it could take 6-8 weeks to get the packet entered into the system and then it'd show up as processi...

Re: Handgun Proficiency Score??

If you shoot all fives from 3 yards you've got 100pts. If you shoot 15 of 20 fives at 7 yards that's another 75. If you completely miss everything else, congratulations you've passed. This is not to say you shouldn't go for gold*, but if you practice the 7 yard order of fire and hit 5s consistently,...

Re: Army Corps of Engineer property

Hmmm, this is sticky. Says "loaded firearms" are prohibited but then if you take the ammo out and keep it with you you're still violating that statute. Guess you'll have to put the ammo in a ziplock and bury it outside the gate. Interesting, even though black powder weapons are not considered the sa...

Church is under my controll?

Ok I was sitting around thinking and that naturally leads to me getting in trouble. But at least this time I'm not blowing anything up. PC 46.02 (1) on the person's own premises or premises under the person's control; or Sent my ap in just a short while ago so I don't have the plastic yet. I am the ...

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?

I'd like to see this subject get it's own section, then each location would get it's own subject line. That'd make it much easier rather than wading through page after page.

Re: Police limit warrantless search for guns

The title is a little misleading. The police don't come busting into the house looking for weapons. They are looking for weapons in the procession of juveniles. First they knock. "Police would ask parents or legal guardians for permission to search homes where juveniles ages 17 and under are believe...

Re: Can you carry at your favorite range???

I am not sure what the rules are at Bass Pro in Grapevine but the last time I was there I was next to guy that had no range bag with him and thought to myself "was he just holding the guns in his hand when he came in here"...yes he had 2 pistols and a couple boxes of ammo. As he was leaving I notic...

Re: Police Qualifications

Kevin, There is no requriement on the target or type of scoring anymore. That's an interesting change. You still have to score 70% or better to pass, so... 70% of what , exactly? He said there's no requirement on the TYPE of scoring. So they could use combat, CHL, 70% have to hit the blue, or whate...

Re: Friend stopped by DPS and scolded

Why would you not be carrying? :evil2: I'm on my way on base or other federal property and don't want to check my weapon into the armory (if one's available). I'm lucky that I only work in a federally leased building. The parking lot is not considered part of the lease. At least by the maps I've se...

Re: Friend stopped by DPS and scolded

Advised by my CHL to always show the CHL license (turn on dome light, hands on steering wheel, don't do anything stupid) but it is not the law. I've decided I'm going to print the troublesome bits out on business cards and carry them. Course, I've got the 2007 update with markings on my laptop, whic...

Re: Sports Authority Clearance

This is in San Antonio, north side off of San Pedro. They had probably 40-50 shotguns and rifles, about 30-40 different boxes of rifle/handgun ammo, shotgun, ammo, holsters, targets, cleaning, etc. Most *not* on clearance. I hadn't even been in one for at least a year so I have no idea if this is no...
