Re: Officer Invades Apartment, Shoots Resident

Watch the cross - notice the DA's approach, and again, something to keep in mind if you're ever on trial for shooting somebody. He kept repeating "you COULD have..." You COULD have taken cover, and she answered "I could have." You COULD have called for backup... and so on. So he paints a picture of...

Re: Dicks destroys $5 million worth of weapons

"I said, 'You know what? If we really think these things should be off the street, we need to destroy them,'" he said. Trouble with this statement is that in 99% of the cases they AREN'T ON THE STREET. They are in law abiding person's homes for self defense. They are in the field for various types ...

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Son-in-law should have been old enough to be beyond stupid "practical jokes".

Hiding in the bushes at 11:30 pm and jumping out to "surprise" someone...brilliant move.
^^^^^

Yep, I'm OK with the SIL getting shot just for being an idiot. ;-)

Re: Sam's Club Requiring ID Card At Door Again

These people are not stupid. They know there is ZERO way to prevent an armed shooter from killing people in their stores. The goal is to APPEAR like they are doing something. ^^^^ Which suggests they are counting on their customer base to be so 'stupid' as to accept/believe it! And maybe they are.

Re: Family pets?, Micorchip please

Let's not forget that while the implantation of the chip is not really that expensive (and sometimes vets do it for free as part of some promotional events), it's the registration database fees that surprise most people. If you don't pay a registration fee, your dog is not inserted into the DB. And...

HK has LEM trigger which I assume it one way of DAO.
Interesting. The 'LEM' trigger sounds as if it works exactly like the Para LDA's.

LaBRat she is not on duty. She is at her home (she thinks) and there is NO duty to retreat in Texas. She didn’t have to back out to cover and wait. ^^^^^^ I suppose the trouble I have with this revolves around her being LEO. Typically, LEO (in their jurisdiction) retain their police 'powers' 24/7. ...

Re: France: Paris mass knife attack kills 4 policemen

Police dept employee, used a ceramic knife, guessing to get through any metal detectors in police hq. Just so you know they are adding bit of steel to the Cermaic knives now because of that very reason. Only way I know of is to get one made in China by a pro but when it is delivered [ after 2 month...

Re: Double-Action Only Semi-Automatic Pistol

I can't think of a pistol that is hammer fired and is double action on every shot. Here is one (no longer in production). My Daughter's first 'carry' pistol (Para Carry 9). Chosen for its plethora of safety devices (Thumb Safety, Grip Safety, Firing pin block, Long (but light) double action trigger...
