Re: I just received an interesting letter of clarification from ATF

I had 300BLK AR pistol with Sig brace. When the ATF started crawfishing on their position a few years ago, I submitted a Form 1 to convert to an SBR. I shoot carbine matches regularly but Subsonic 300 BLK is $1 per round (also have suppressor on it) so wanted a 556/223 short barrel upper to shoot mo...

Re: Ameriglo Front Sights and Black Rear Sights

Many of mine have fiber front and plain rear. I like how it draws my eyes to the front sight. These are mostly on competition pistols. I did add a couple Glock 19s to the family a couple of years ago. I've never liked the stock Glock sights and stumbled across the Ameriglo CAP sights. The front is a...

Re: Federal agent shoots himself in foot at Orlando International Airport

/quote] Never try to catch a falling weapon:
I started shooting IDPA nine years ago at PSC. During the New Shooter briefing, they said if you drop a weapon, you're DQ'd but if it slips out of your hand to just let it go. They mentioned a match elsewhere where the shooter grabbed for a fallin...

Re: Ground Speed please

A buddy and I took an F-4 from the Texas ANG in Houston to Randolph AFB in early '80s. It was for their open house so lots of different aircraft on the ramp for the tax payers to see and ask questions. At one time the SR-71 was very secret. I believe the flew out of Beale and Kadena. If they had to ...

Re: Houston Chronicle - Packing a gun at your business sends the wrong message

I too agree with Charles about the Chronicle. Subscribed for years until moved to Hill Country almost three years ago. Get the SA Express News. It too is Hearst liberal rag. The odd thing is that it hasn't always been that way. Went to my MIL in Seguin starting 28 years ago. Remember reading the EN ...

Re: Glock Night Sights Needed

I have two Glock 19s that I installed and the Ameriglo CAP sights GL-624 that I love. Narrower front sight works great with my old eyes so see a lot of space between front and rear. They are green though rather than red (I prefer green which I see better than red). Wish they had something similar fo...

Re: Greetings from Colorado

Did you bring any mags over 15 rds? I think you're OK if you owned them before CO passed their law restricting them.
Planning a trip in the future to visit BIL/SIL. I called [Pre-paid legal service] attorney to ask about this capacity limit, the grandfathering, etc. since I preferred...

Re: SB 16 - priority bill, reduction of LTC fees

No, the email said a couple of things were pending (one being veteran status) but never heard anything else. Can't imagine why i'd have to resubmit DD214 since they already had it. "Checks in the mail" which i anticipate getting today or tomorrow.

You did well! I filed renewal on-line on 5/17. Status shows "awaiting printing" so I am right behind you. Thanks DPS.

Re: SB 16 - priority bill, reduction of LTC fees

I filed for renewal less than two weeks ago (as soon as I entered the six month window). I'm a veteran so HB16 doesn't impact me but I suspect a number of people who are up for renewal OR are doing the initial, are waiting until Sept 1. I hope you can get it within 60 days if apply after Sept 1. BTW...

Re: PSA-Stolen Gun

I have mine in a Console Vault. They are ordered for the specific vehicle and assemble from inside the console. Nothing is perfect but this should eliminate the smash and grab theft. You'd have to rip out the console to get to it. If they stole the truck and had enough time, they would be able to ge...

Re: Quality Range Ammo .223/.556 for AR15

I order from several on line dealers. I've used Aguila, PMC, and American Eagle. I totally agree to NOT use steel cased. I ran about 500 rounds of Wolfe on my first AR without any problem. I ran a few rounds of steel cased through my M1A SOCOM 16 and it caused problems. Resolved at that point to nev...

Re: New to this forum!

An excellent website that is related to Texas CHL Forum (Charles Cotton influence) is Texas Firearms Coalition. Go there and find his podcasts. I've listened while driving, in my office, and even working in the yard. If you start with number 1, they all had a section on the history of concealed carr...
