Re: Switching to wheel guns this year

In addition to carrying and competing with these guns, I have some drills I'd like to try to shoot as "benchmarks". I'll be shooting them pretty raw this month (very minimal dry fire, reload or live fire practice with any of these guns), so hopefully as I dry fire, practice and compete I'll be able ...

Switching to wheel guns this year

I've carried (and competed with) all kinds of guns over the years. Glocks, 1911s, CZs, Sigs, etc. Heck, my first carry gun when I didn't shoot much or know much was a Taurus. For 2019, I'm doing something a little different. My firearms goal for this year is to only carry and compete with revolvers....

Re: Ever Eaten Raw Beef?

74novaman, Are you from someplace in Africa? The only mention of 'biltong' I've seen were all located there. How long do you let it dry and do you use cheese cloth to keep the flys off or ...? Thanks! Nope, I just like trying different foods. I built a sealed box with air holes covered wish mesh, a...

That looks great! Looks like soy-seasoned?
(we have the same cutting mat ;-) )
Salt, pepper, coriander on the meat, after taking a brown vinegar bath and being hung out to try.

Re: Ever Eaten Raw Beef?

Not raw, but I did make some cured uncooked beef into biltong this week. It was delicious.

(red underneath isn't blood, it's a design on the cutting board)

Re: Snubbie Ballistics: .38 Special vs. .357 Magnum

No, that's not the point - the article is more a case of comparing the longer barrels to the snubbies (in those same calibers) - how loads can be, and are, tailored using different powders so that velocity isn't lost in the shorter barrels and hence their effectiveness. Then your thread title is a ...

Re: Snubbie Ballistics: .38 Special vs. .357 Magnum

It’s interesting info, but I think it gets a little into the realm of “missing the forest for the trees”. .357 is a better performer on a chronograph and in ballistic gel than a .38, even in short barrels. That’s good to know. But how many of us can shoot a .357 as quickly and (more importantly) as ...

Re: Cajun Gun Works & Rebirth of an old friend

The decocker models are the hardest and I've read that installing the kit in a gun with a safety is much easier. Chas. Absolutely true. I've done CGW upgrades on both decocker and safety models. My experience was similar to yours the first time I did a decocker gun. The safety equipped models are m...

Very nice, congrats, and nice family too. My P-09 is currently my favorite pistol.
I like the 09s a lot. Surprising capacity for such a slim grip. I prefer shooting the metal framed guns but the P-09 carries very well.

Re: Hey CZ guys

This is an unusual one. Most compact 75s with a safety have steel frames. CZ makes alloy compact frames for the P-01 and PCR but those are both decocker guns. There are 3 variants that have a safety and an alloy frame, all fairly hard to find. The factory sold some P-02s and Compact Ls built that wa...

Re: Hey CZ guys

I do like the DW. It’s a 9mm which makes purists wince but it is an outstanding shooter.

Did you catch what’s unusual about the compact in the first picture?

Hey CZ guys

Thought y’all might be able to figure out and appreciate why I’m pretty excited about this gun trade I’m making next week. https://i.imgur.com/VA4XSR9.jpg I also have a CGW massaged Shadow coming in next week. https://i.imgur.com/gRRCxn9.jpg They should both play nicely with the rest of the family. ...

Re: I also prefer .45acp

I do particularly love the argument that 9mm has undergone these technological advancements that make it more adequate... but apparently no other caliber has benefited from the same modern projectile technology. That's a bit of a misrepresentation. The argument isn't that only 9mm has improve...

Re: Started a new AR Project.

I really enjoy my A4 set up, they're great guns and the A2 stock works well for me.

But just for fun I tried to create an American version of the Canadian C7A2, using the KAC M5 and a PA 5x instead of the Elcan. I have to say, I really like this set up.
