Re: DFW North/NorthEast Quadrant Breakfast

This Saturday is 4.11.20, the 2nd Saturday of the month, which is the Frisco venue. Strogg and I will be there at 800 AM, as usual. We will get our food and beverage at the drive thru, and then "tailgate" in the parking lot. We would like to have more company. Blackhorse1 and your bride: y...

Re: Anyone personally know of an open range?

The other day strogg and I shot at Texas Gun Experience on Main St., Grapevine. Nice range but you get 60 minutes. At other ranges you can stay as long as you wish. For ammo seekers: they had a pallet of 9MM, 124 grain, FMJ, made in Hungary. They also had a pallet of .45 ACP, 230 grain, FMJ, America...

Re: DFW Way Out West Breakfast

This Saturday is March's 4th Saturday, 3.28.20, which is the Hudson Oaks breakfast. Last week's Arlington count was only 3, due to the restaurant restrictions. I will not be at any of the breakfasts until we can have an inside place to sit. Hang in there my friends. As with other of life's problems ...

Re: DFW West/Southwest Quadrant Breakfast

Rudy's Arlington should be open for takeout. We can get our food and coffee, then tailgate in Rudy's parking lot.

Blackhorse1 & bride: that way you don't have to worry about the logistics of PM'ing your residence address to all possible attendees. Deal?

Re: DFW North/NorthEast Quadrant Breakfast

03: Regarding our "risky" behavior. We probably had more of a chance of getting killed in a car wreck on our way to Rudy's, than having to worry about dying from this "possibly" trumped up virus scare. As of today's date, there has been 1 Collin County death. The 2009-2010 swine ...

Mother/daughter team with handguns fight off druggie BG w/ shotgun.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1b4iLeqry0U The above link is a video which is 10:17 long, and well worth the time to watch it. A mother and daughter team were working at their liquor store when a crazed, shotgun wielding druggie BG came in to rob them. The mother appears to have a Smith and Wesson...

Re: DFW North/NorthEast Quadrant Breakfast

I will be there, with tales of El Paso, Alpine, a new holster, and the feral hogs that got away. :-)

Re: My down the road neighbor's dilemma!

Well, spending $350 for the revolver, but only able to get $100 for a trade-in, he might as well take advantage of the Taurus lifetime warranty and send it back for Taurus to resolve the issue. Send it back to Taurus. They should fix it for free. Yes, the turnaround may take a while to get it back f...

Re: El Paso to Alpine: 2020 Lonestar Cowboy Poetry Gathering.

E10: I know javelina. The critters I saw were feral hogs. My car was parked on the shoulder, and I was standing on the shoulder. Would that be considered "shooting from the roadway"? Of course "roadway" would be the pavement, but does the definition of "roadway" extend ...

Regarding the number of lobbyists working for our Texas and federal 2A rights:

1. Mike Cox
2, <Jeff Borskey? sp?> = Contract lobbyist with multiple clients, including TSRA.
3. Ms. Tara Mica - Of the NRA.

TSRA = Texas State Rifle Association. All Texas gun owners should join.

This past Friday and Saturday, the TSRA held its AGM (Annual General Meeting) at the Texas Rangers Museum in Waco. As far as I could tell there were 4 forum members in attendance: AF-Odin, Paladin, jmorris and myself. Many of us are NRA members, and NRA handles our legislative gun needs at the feder...

El Paso to Alpine: 2020 Lonestar Cowboy Poetry Gathering.

On a previous thread, I described my first ever trip to El Paso. After I was there a few days, I left and took I-10 towards Alpine, Texas. It's great desert drive with speed limits as high as 80 MPH. But plunked right in the middle of I-10 at one point is a Homeland Security checkpoint. I had to sto...
