Re: First outing: Walmart, Kroger then Pizza Hut [with a LEO

Terry, If you like the sweep of a 1911 style thumb safety, and you want 9mm, and you want 10 or more rounds in the magazine, have you considered a S&W M&P? I have one in .45 ACP. It weighs less than my 5" Springfield 1911, and even in .45 ACP, it has a 10+1 capacity, AND it is available with a thum...

Re: full size AND compact model?

you can't legally exclude Glock owners from a thread unless you post effective notice in the thread using this exact language in extra large type. I almost excluded Glock owners from the post. Not to be a Glock hater or anything. But many Glock owners have mulitple models and we know how similar the models are.

Re: full size AND compact model?

I believe this can actually be a smart and beneficial thing. Same controls, same safeties, in the same places. Being familiar with one platform may be the best thing in a bad situation. If you build muscle memory, then you don't have to think about which gun you're operating. :tiphat: :iagree: ... ...

carry weapon color??

So if I did something like a Ruger SR9c that has color options, I am thinking it would be best to go with black to reduce the chance of a concealment gaff. http://www.ruger.com/products/sr9c/images/firearms.jpg Would that be the general consensus, or it should really matter because if it is conceale...

full size AND compact model?

I wonder if anybody out there likes a particular brand/model so much that they have both a full size (for home defense) and a subcompact (for concealed carry). I can also see equipping the full size model with a light or some such.

Maybe its a silly question, I was just wondering ... :headscratch

Help with carry weapon

Hi all, I am hoping some of you may be willing to give additional input on a carry weapon. I have gotten some feedback in another post about my first carry outing: http://www.texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=36267" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I have adjusted my initial list b...

SIA - thank you so much for your reply and recommendations. I also give you extra points for hitting that space bar once in a while. White space is everyone's friend when reading a post. The threads that are composed of one ginormous paragraph are not fun to read. SIA Yes I concur - unless its a fic...

Yes, of course - no doubt there. But the language is very strong and warranted mentioning before everyone loads it up in there NetFlix queue.

Re: Carrying around OPC (Other People's Children)?

It is not my responsibility to give up my rights so someone else can feel better. It is their responsibility to voice their concerns and not mine to volunteer information to them. I look at it like the posting law for CHL holders. If a person is anti-freedom they have the responsibility to let it b...

Re: R. Lee Ermey does Geico

He was the Technical Advisor for FMJ. I too loved the Boot Camp portion of the movie, especially when it showed my barracks in the background. I was 2nd Recruit Training Bn, right next to the Parade deck. My other favorite USMC movie is "The Boys in Company C". I just love that flick, though it was...
